My 9 year old nephew plays sc2 no problem as well. That doesn't mean he's at risk of being professional anytime soon.
Some people come up with the dumbest reasoning/analogies to tear down a game they don't like.

You were fun while you lasted. DotA 2 better usurp this game. ;/ A videogame getting more views than a game has ever before = death of esports? when esports is heading in the direction of being a washed up kindergarten sport why would anyone who enjoyed esport BECAUSE it took a shitton of skill and dedication wanna be part of it? esports might grow, not in the wrong direction tho. But hasn't that been going on since SC2? I don't understand why SC2 fans would complain about that? Isn't it a good thing that the interface is more easy so that you can concentrate on better translating your thoughts and visions into action? LoL is still technically demanding and very difficult to play at a mechanically perfect level, there's plenty of things to optimize. im not a fan of sc2 as a game. im a fan of the scene. oh boy, what would i give if that was wc3. i never played bw (beside a couple of games) but i admire the amount of skill the game itself requires.

With that couse next games will be something like Angry Birds, or YouDa Farmer... and i bet, there will be screams and posts like "cool, e-sports is growing" - it's growing downwards guys.

When StarCraft was more popular than DotA, that was fine, for SC is inherently a better game. When LoL is more popular than StarCraft 2, that is fine too, for LoL is inherently a better game.

Why would you compare hide and seek? Let's use existing olympic games, okay?
100m running. I can run 100 meters! My 9 year old sister can run 100 meters!
Football? I can play football! My friend has played football since he was 6 years old! Not a real sport?
Let's take tabletennis! I've played that since I was 8.
Do you see?

I played soccer when I was 4 or something. I was able to hit the ball into the net. Damn that game is easy, it's so sad that such a "sport" gets so much attention. It's just wrong that something that easy can become big.

The only reason i don't really like LoL becoming so big right now is because riot's programmers are really terrible. The game is horribly optimized and the out of game interface is terribly slow. Possibly because it uses Adobe air, haha.

Was I amazing? Hell no but I enjoyed the game and got into comepetive esports at 12 because of that. I hit C- on iccup at 13

BW fan can't understand all the rage about LoL being nooby compared to SC2 =S

sc2 DOTA players are ballers. You pay for what you get :D Yeah I also guage how competetive a game is by how much my mom spends on my computer. That's why BW is a joke and Skyrim is the best Esport. (LoL has higher computer requirements than SC2 btw)
I only mentioned sc2 and DOTA. the baller games. You know nothing about me and people are cheap have you gone outside much to see this?

Maru is code S material and he's 14 years old. Leenock is 15. Flash won his first title in 15. Best showed up at 14.
Both bw and sc2 are just games, nothing more, nothing less. You are not a genious if you win at bw. So stop hating on poor lol on the excuse that even children play it.

Further more as an active lol player i can tell you that can be as complex gameplay wise as sc2 can even more in depth. Ofcourse sc2 takes more skill to play cause is the nature of the game which requires lightning fast reflexes.
Tbh claming that meta changes to sc2 every week but it doesnt into lol is a joke thought rly considering that lol has over 90 champions and only a hand full are been used effectively , lol scene is rly underdeveloped compare to sc2.
Also as a non sc2 player anymore i can tell you that sc2 feels to me way more stall and repeatable with only a handfull of viable builds in the top tournaments ( who can forget terrans spam 1-1-1 few months ago all the time for instance ) and way less balanced than lol
The big difference is that lol requires team fighting and co-op and viewers seem to like that , than just seeing 1vs1 all the time
I've seen a fair share of average posts on TL, but this one has to be close to topping the lot. You didn't raise any coherent or even semi-valid points.
The point which most are expressing (which is COMPLETELY different to that of the SC2/BW debate) is that LoL has significantly lower skill ceiling and thus allows for great entry for new players. This is without considering that the game is F2P. Sure it's great that it's getting esports out there but it's kind of a smack to the face for players across all games that have grinded many hours playing very hard to learn games; especially when the professional (yuck) LoL players make so much cash so easily via streams and over-paid tournaments.

What's with all the political correctness towards LoL/DotA/HoN? To hell with that! These games are what they are: - As lowbrow as you can make a game. That way you can attract even the last fool. - Not demanding any advanced coordination from your hands. One hero, four skills, maybe some active items or minions and that's it. - Plus you get 4 allies, which you can blame, if you're losing, so it's never your fault when losing, right?
The easier a game, the more succesful.

When will people accept that LoL is competition, not our "esports friend"?

more of my students play LoL than all other games combined

It's the same thing whether LoL or SC2 take over what BW started in Korea. They are equally unworthy successors but it's better than the alternative of nothing at all.

League of legends is truly a strong competitive esport.
SC2 is really great, but the fact is team sports are much more competitive due to the nature of coordination.

To be honest, I don't really care about LoL's success in Korea when I still have a ton of SC2 tournaments to watch from all over the world. It's good for LoL. Let's Dota game compete each other.

Ugh... god that game seriously makes me physically sick. I'm fine with other people playing it, but as I said in a previous thread I just can't do it. I just hate that game.
This might be wishful thinking, but I really hope HOTS gets SC back on track. If, that is, this information is correct.
