You are a professional troll. That said:
What kind of individual honestly believes a magic switch goes off when you turn from 16 to 17, or 17 to 18. The perpetrator in that video certainly knew that beating another kid senseless is wrong in the general view of things. It isn't the educator's job to stop dangerous violence, that's the role of law enforcement.

This kid should get charges leveled against him or at the very least suspended. There is no excuse for a beating like this to take place IN THE CLASSROOM and only a 3 day suspension is given.
In my school most fights would take place after school at a nearby park, and if any of the faculty heard about it the kids would get suspended for at least a week. The fact that this takes placed during school in a classroom is inexcusable. That kid needs to learn a lesson.

I don't know what world you come from, but anyone over the age of 10 without mental health issues knows VERY CLEARLY that violently assaulting someone is wrong.
So they DO KNOW BETTER.

You literally just described a premeditated assault...

If you're older then 5 you know better. I'm so sick of hearing this 'they don't know better' crap that holds no water. At 15 you don't know better about things like taxes, spending money, or having sex. You know the difference between basic right and wrong.
Agree with this, also, how are educators supposed to correct this? Especially if he only gets a short suspension. Any kid in high school that doesn't have mental issues should know that this is completely wrong.

My confrontation in high school was a fight. Kid didn't appreciate something I did, and I did appreciate his unappreciation, so we fought over it. This was more like the time I saw a kid get beat up because the other kid got payed 50 bucks to do it.
edit: actually, it's exactly like it

oh nevermind, it's the fucking internet. Oh please... Who gives a shit even IF this is a trumped up story by the kid who was assaulted. How is this type of premeditated, sustained assault justifiable under ANY circumstances??
It isn't. But in order to stop these types of things you should probably focus on reporting their prevalence and the school's failures to address certain issues. A 3 day suspension for a fight is pretty standard. Everything about the article sounds like a normal grade school fight, except the victim in this case was chosen due to his homosexuality.

No one is asking for police to break up every school yard fight. People want the kid to be prosecuted for his actions. They are completely different.

3 days? I got suspended for longer than that for defending myself against someone who attacked me in class.

Did you watch the video of the "fight"? I went to a public high school in DETROIT and I never saw something like that, in fact only like 2-4 fights ever happened at my school at every time it was 2 guys going at it not one kid waits for a kid to come in then starts wailing on him for no reason. This wasn't a normal fight in anyway.

Again, how can educators correct this when a high school age doesn't already know that this is completely wrong? I'm even willing to bet even the kids parents couldn't really do anything other than make the kid regret doing it, not actually realizing its wrong. Without some form of severe punishment he won't learn any lesson.

Dude, did you watch the video? He is wating for him, and then throwing like 10 straight jabs at his head.. the victim was totally defenseless.. That is not bullying, that is assault.. I mean, if he hits the wrong place of his head the kid will die.

It has never been a big deal and it shouldn't be now. The educators and parents should be the ones involved. Asking police to deal with every schoolyard beating is an absolute joke and you're way too sensitive if you're looking for that.

Yes they have the duty to correct the behavior, which involves giving appropriate punishment.
3 day suspension for a violent assault is NOT APPROPRIATE PUNISHMENT.
Teachers have every right and reasons to involve the police if the wrongdoing is sever enough, I don't expect police to be called if a kid calls their teacher an idiot but if you have premeditated assaults occurring in the classroom this CAN and SHOULD be escalated to the police so they can deal the appropriate punishment.

What does that have to do with anything? Are you suggesting some kind of sueing? No this is for a crime, as in jail time.
