Drink lots of water. Like a gallon. It gets rid of the headache. Do not take medication to alleviate your headache, because drinking + pills in such a short time takes a serious toll on your liver.

As for food - omelette with bacon - you need fatty stuff right now, bacon is perfect, eggs contain cysteine, which makes your body get free from poisonous stuff, helps with alcohol, too ![]() EDIT : Also, fresh veggies make the omelette tastier, and also contain B-vitamins which help immensely, too ![]()

Only time I ever eat/want/crave bacon is when I'm hung over because there's just something about it. Bacon double cheeseburger at burger king with a medium sprite and fry does the trick if you want a referral =P. Just make sure you eat slow and either wait to drive home after or drive home first. I got car sick once, I don't know if it was cause of the hangover or bad food, but just to be safe. Getting car sick while driving sucks =\

If you dont want a hangover stay away from caffiene and sugary beverages. In the end, as long as you drink alot of water it just wont be as bad. I second Vietnamese pho for best hangover food. Even more better, drink a bunch before you go to sleep and your hangover will be way less then it would otherwise. There's been times I drank 15 whisky shots in a night, but because I was also drinking gatorade most the time I didn't even wake up with a hangover. Other times I won't and I'll have 3 crown and cokes and feel shitty the next morning(yea, I'm kinda lightweight when it comes to getting hungover which is why I do above) On August 11 2011 08:03 Phayze wrote: Show nested quote + On August 11 2011 07:46 micronesia wrote: The best way to prepare for a hangover is to prevent it. 1) Put 2 slices of bread in the toaster. 2) Add roughly equal parts butter and sugar to a pan (about 2 tablespoons each for 1 sandwich), and bring it to medium heat. 3) Add vanilla, honey, and cinnamon for flavour. 4) Thinly slice a banana and put the pieces in the now-simmering caramel sauce. 5) Flip the banana slices over so they can caramelize on the other side, and cut the heat. 6) Pull out the 2 slices of toast and butter the insides. 7) Pour the banana slices + caramel sauce onto one of the slices of toast, and close up your sandwich. 8) Dig in and enjoy. Make sure it's not too hot though! The entire thing takes ~3 minutes from start to finish.

That plus either an ice cold beer, no joke, great cure for hangover, an ice cold chococate milk or simply some coca cola. Obviously followed by a trip back to bed with a bag of salty chips. I pity myself at those times.

The top thing though: Go do something. Don't just sit around inside and think how bad you feel, force yourself to eat and then go for a run or something. I think you want to drink water mainly. And eat stuff with alot of water in it like apples in the morning or salad at noon. Coincidentally these things also don`t make you hurl on reflex when you think of them (like some foods do) , so they are quite pleasant to eat

Any good, full, warm meal will do a lot for lifting your spirits. Doesn't really have to be anything specific, just filling and warm. Imagine you were like lost in the wilderness for a week and on being rescued you were asked what you wanted to eat for breakfast. Your eyes will be 100x bigger than your plate but whatever your answer is, get that for the hangover. Ppl saying water. Yall should be drinking water anyways regardless of your alcohol consumption. If it's a kegger then put water in your cup after every time you finish a cup of beer. Nobody notices or cares. And you can last longer into the night, beat everybody at whatever games are still going on and still get a boner going if necessary since you aren't completely trashed.

If you dont want a hangover stay away from caffiene and sugary beverages. In the end, as long as you drink alot of water it just wont be as bad. To make things simple: It's not alcohol itself that causes dehydration, but mostly aldehydes in it. The better distilled the liquor is, the less aldehydes it contains (in the case of strong alcohols, e.g. whiskey, vodka etc.) Fun fact: Aldehydes also cause the"fire" in your throat when you drink. A truly pure alcohol (96.6%) should taste almost like water.

+ Show Spoiler + Encebollados (Ecuador) The base of this seafood soup is called Sofrito and is a pungent mix of Tomatoes, Onions, Cumin, Chili and Cilantro (coriander). The protein element and foundation for the stock is Tuna. The starch element is Yuca a starchy root vegetable that requires time to cook down the coarse threads found within its stalk. The result is a delicious aromatic savory and spicy soup that is traditionally topped with pickled onions and tomatoes. ENJOY IT!! you'll feel like a new man.

Wash it down with hair of the dog (preferably a quality beer). The carbohydrates will be converted to glucose, providing energy. The ethanol will be preferentially broken down by an enzyme (alcohol dehydrogenase) which would otherwise be turning any methanol into toxic products. This gives you some time. Use it to flush all your problems away with lots of water. And if you can, go for a swim (wait a bit after eating of course). Good luck! ![]()

Drink water. I honestly didn't know greasy foods were good to eat after hangovers, I tend to eat light and just keep fluids going through me.

Something about a couple of fresh buttermilk waffles, hash browns smothered covered and chunked, and a couple of hungover friends and strangers at the table to help you through the dark dark times in the morning after. of course, some of the time we don't even make it to the morning, and just end up rolling in at like, 3 in the morning!

If you come back with "I can't afford the better stuff but I want to get drunk" then let me know what you would be drinking IF you had more money to spend on booze and I'll buy some. I don't get what you're trying to get at. Most of the time I just stick with my soju and beer. I'm assuming you're trying to tell me you can afford expensive alcohol? Danmooji, I understand the pain you are going through if these are your alcohols of choice. Soju is very unclean alcohol, with high levels of --hydes, the worst being acetaldeyhyde. This is a byproduct of inferior alcohol production in which too much oxygen is introduced during fermentation. Also, it is a product of high temperatures during primary fermentation. It is also present in the major Korean rice beers, Cass, Hite, and OB. You can detect its presence by the slight green apple flavor. You say,"green apples in BEER!!?? WHAT!?!" Trust me its there, and very subtle on the pallet. Korean drinking culture almost champions the hangover from excessive of drinking these local alcohols. My first recommendation to you is to try HaeJeongGuk 해정국 There are many restaurants throughout Korea where you can find it as this is the national Hangover Soup. The name means 'Hangover away soup'. It is similar to Pho but is less expensive and a bit spicier. It does not have noodles, but instead comes with a bowl of rice to the side. It also has a big chunk of beef spine in it. Yummy!! My second recommendation is to stop drinking Soju and Korean rice beers. If you are looking for a great alternative i recommend Craftworks near Noksapyeong. They are a microbrew with reasonably priced Ales that have a lot of attention paid to their brewing process and thus are better beer in taste and chemical composition of alcohol products and byproducts. It is becoming more and more common to see imports in Korea, but as you know they are quite pricey. Craftworks brews their beer in Gapyeong, which is about an hour east of Seoul. They are afordable, local and delicious! http://craftworkstaphouse.com/ If you must drink Korean rice beer, there is a new 'formula' from OB. Look for the golden labeled bottles. This beer has the 'best' formula and brew process of all the Korean beers. It has the least 'green apple taste' and by my conclusion the least --hydes. OB is the oldest Korean brewery and is showing to be the most progressive in producing a product that could compete with other European and American corn and rice lagers. This is based on my own private 'tastings' ^o^ If you are looking to try some HaeJeongGuk or a delicious, cold pint at Craftworks, PM me. I would love to meet a TeamLiquid member for a beer and grub. This stands for anyone in Korea or with plans to visit. Mumu Edit: OOps my Korean isnt soo good!! HaeJangGuk 해장국 ^^

Seriously, drink 2 parts water for every 1 part of alcohol you have and you'll be fine. If that's too much water or you are at a bar, mix with Orange Gatorade. It tastes pretty good and helps keep you hydrated along the way, and always drink water before you sleep. Best hangover cure, should it happen, is saltine crackers for me. Generally, if I have a hangover, I generally have drank way way way too much and can barely move the next day. Crackers are all I can muster, but that's my go-to hangover cure :D

Depending on how violently hung over you are, a strong cup of tea with sugar in can be perfect, or can make you chunder straight up. Same deal with the standard bacon sandwich. I really think leftover curry or an equivalent to the tikka wrap is the best hangover food you can find.

Anyway, for me, for a hangover: tomato juice with olive salt and pepper. Tastes not decent, but kills hangover on its tracks in 2 hours flat for me :D.

If you're in an emergency situation and need to get rid of it ASAP, get a super tall glass, fill it with V8 and add like 2 tsp. of high quality, full sodium soy sauce. It's like the most dense combination of salt, electrolytes and nutrients you can get without making yourself vomit (which makes your hangover worse. if you ever throw up you need to keep drinking fluids afterwards)

Also, wise drinking (read: mixing properly if at all) helps. I can say that I hadn't had a major hangover since I was 18. If you come back with "I can't afford the better stuff but I want to get drunk" then let me know what you would be drinking IF you had more money to spend on booze and I'll buy some. I dont see how "better" stuff decreases hangover symptoms. Dehydration is dehydration, I can buy grey goose or I can buy BOSS, drinking either wont change a thing. Im calling bs on this. Alcohol itself causes throat and airway irritation, hence the perceived taste. As well as dehydration. So basically, the drinking advice is pointless, drink whatever the hell you want, its the alcohol content that matters.

2. Mary Jane 3. Gatorade A night of heavy drinking will really dehydrate you, so WTF else will help you rehydrate you better than coconut water, well the actual answer is of course pickle juice but who wants to drink that, so the 2nd best is Coconut Water. Gatorade used to be my go to method, until I stumbled upon cocowater. And Marijuana is on the list because it's not a source of rehydration, but it really takes the edge off being hung over, and it's harmless when using a vaporizer so blaze it up.

Towards the end of the day I've either given up and gone to vomit, or fallen asleep. When I wake up (to days after) I've either vomited in my sleep or I still feel somewhat like crap but most of the hangover is gone but I'm hungry as fuck. In this case I rather just get whatever's in the house. If there's only cereal and caviar (which was the case last time) I'm totally fine with that. Fuck no that I'd go out in public lol. Imo the more interesting food choices come around 5 am when you're out partying and you're on your way home and you feel hungry and you stop to eat at some fast food joint and take a piss in the broom closet. Edit. I really don't understand how people can go out to food joints and start cooking mega meals and shit when you're hungover.... I'd fucking throw up if I walked further than 5 meters because of the nausia, and in no fucking way would I be able to down sausages and fat food. You do that when you're drunk towards the end of the night out, not when you're back home on the next day O_o

So what I've learned to do is prevention. I consider myself a bullemic alcoholic. After a night of binge drinking, before I go to sleep I throw it up while it's mixed in my stomach with whatever the heck I consumed last night. It doesn't hurt as much and I never get a hangover from do

I don't think McDonalds is good for you, hung over or not. I tend to feel pretty ill after I eat there, but the one memory that stands out for me was the morning after a $200 night at the bar. I got the standard Egg McMuffin meal with a small coffee, and I literally had to get off the sky train every stop to go barf, and when I finally got to work, I spent 6 hours hugging the toilet. I think I would have been fine if I had skipped McDicks though, but I guess I'll never know. Eggs and toast with a gatorade, followed up with a coffee if my stomach isn't in too much of an uproar.

This is very rare tho, and I kinda deserve it when it strikes. The other one is basic hangover, wich is best countered by foods, thats why this OP is good! Favourites like greasy junk-food has been mentioned, but I must say i disagree. Healthy food with lots of fruits and vegetables gives the best results all over in my case. I try to avoid too much juice as it can be hard on the stomach, but water in plenty and some sushi from the local place always gets me back in game!

The greasier, the better and better add more sauce then less. Some discount 7-eleven sports drink. Those drinks like Pocari Sweat are great for hangovers anyway. I have a feeling that the hangover of an Asian or Mediterranean would be very mild compared to the answer of a Swede, Brit or German xD I just cant imagine a Brit or Swede being able to cook anything at all after a night out LOL But the best way for me to prevent a hangover is a nice chicken kebab on my way home. If I do get a hangover then it's water and sleep, followed by a ready-meal and more sleep.

I rarely get hangovers anymore but still, this could be clutch. Anyways, I'm pretty responsible about drinking a good amount of water during or after my heavy drinking sessions. I always have Gatorade in my fridge so that definitely helps in the morning (or more realistically, afternoon). As for food, Goldfish crackers help me out when I'm in need.

firstly you are suffering from alcohol poisoning. don't kid yourself. fortunately you won't die from it at this level. When you are highly intoxicated you generally have no problems falling asleep (or passing out) unless there are other substances in the mix. however when you are sleeping drunk you don't actually fall into deep sleep so even after 8 or 9 hours sleep you will be tired but may be wide awake. Secondly alcohol is a diuretic so you get dehydrated from consuming alcohol. Thirdly there is a break down product called acetaldehyde produced from alcohol metabolism that causes all the other symptoms of your hang over. There is no cure for the high levels of acetaldehyde in your body but time - you have to wait it out. Having said that having a drink of water and something to eat before going to bed helps when I used to drink heavely i used to follow this formula in the morning: 1 glass water with multivitamins powerade (sports drink with electrolytes) double whopper meal go back to bed about 5-6 hours after i woke up the first time

Bacon or Ham (I prefer ham since it's thick chunks), cheese, eggs, potatos all on a massive tortilla. So good. I just went out and got one for proleague finals. ^^

![]() Generally anything mexican with alot of grease, salt and a coke to wash it down. Also: ![]() Btw, am i the only one that thinks sex cures a hangover? It might not be great during the act, but it just removes any bad feeling for at least a few hours for me...

I had a glass of milk sunday morning and puked 3 times, all i could eat till 7pm was 4 raw tomatoes. Like others have already pointed out, there's a difference between food for late night drunken snacks, and food for hangovers. Having said that, everything on this thread looks insane

Having said that, everything on this thread looks insane Puking 3 times sounds perfect to me... at least the only time I ever puked in the morning I slept some more afterwards and then didn't have a hangover whatsoever ![]()
