Arnold was at the top of the body building world for years before basically becoming Hollywood's premier action star. That people would be surprised by him hooking up really blows me away. Sucks for his family, but let's face the facts: When you spend decades in the spotlight for having a perfect physique, it stands to reason that you might get some extra attention from the ladies. | ||

I have to say that once I saw the over-zealot self-endorsing positivity of the couple on a talk show of some kind (Oprah, I think) several years ago, I'm not surprised that they had a few skeletons in the closet. They just didn't see healthy - they were trying too hard. That said, I really don't know them that well (only know Arnold, from his movies), so it's a very limited impression. What's interesting for me when reading the article quotes in this topic is the psychological aspect. It seems as if the accusations against Arnold put pressure on him to admit his adultery to his wife, since he would feel bad about denying it. But it sounds as if he had to keep it from her while he was guvernor. I figure this might be because he didn't feel that he could tell her without telling everyone, being unable to control the situation, or maybe just felt that they were both very in the situation and therefore he simply didn't want the uncomfortable truth to come between that, despite his need to clear the air. | ||
