+ Show Spoiler + Duk Koo Kim, a Korean boxer who died at the end of the fight. I'm not really into boxing, but the fight is absolutely incredible to watch. For anyone who hasn't watched it, I would say try to find the last couple of rounds, or anything, because it is the most impressive display of tenacity and courage I have ever seen, with a truly tragic ending. After the fight both his mother and the referee for the match which he died in committed suicide. His opponent who delivered the killing blow also went through some serious depression problems. Can you imagine doing something that you were raised to do, and then having it turn out that in doing everything you were supposed to do, you killed another human being? I cannot even begin to contemplate how horrible the result of that fight is. + Show Spoiler + ![]() This is a painting by Vincent van Gogh entitled At Eternity's Gate. It was painted only a few months before van Gogh took his own life by shooting himself. Personally whenever I see it all I can think is that it is an image of a person who has no clue where to go. I think everyone can agree that van Gogh died far too early. I'm sure somebody may disagree, but I think suicide is the most saddening and hurtful thing in the world, as they have to really believe there is no where for them to turn. Only problem is there is a lot of blind hatred thrown around in this thread (anti-American posts, pro American posts, but that's what happens whenever you discuss things like the Vietnam War). EDIT: That being said, I think that the most emotional pictures in my opinion are either At Eternity's Gate or Tank Man, which was posted a while ago.

You should read up on that, there is little to no evidence to support that Chernobyl caused what is seen in those photos. It did however cause 6000 or so cases of curable thyroid cancer and to date 62 deaths. Regardless, those are grueling pictures.

This thread is full of images containing powerful messages, both inspiring and sickening and those were my contributions to it as they were the first images that popped into my head when I thought of this thread that weren't reposts. I am sorry if you dont like them, message a mod and if they want to have them removed because they feel they have no place here they can do so, or if they want me to do so I will comply. Pictures like those are needed as reminders of ignorance and how to not act towards others. Personally it makes me sick reading any of it because i love Japan. EDIT: I fucking looked at the picture again. People are so fucking stupid. If the Tsunami was karma then what do they think the Atom bomb was that we dropped on Japan in response to the pearl harbor attack. I really hate people.

It's one of my wallpapers I enjoy more. But allow me to interject before tedious "debate" over the wrong thing erupts. The picture does not represent a juxtaposition of who is the terrorist, the government who rules with steel and uranium or the flesh, explosives and will of the woman. What I see in the picture is devotion and sacrifice. It's easy to fall into the comfortable racial stereotype and ignorance. Why try to understand reality when words like "sand nigger" or "Rag heads" can avoid seeing them as humans with motivations, thoughts and emotions of their own. This picture bridges the gap for those that would otherwise be too affronted or apathetic to do otherwise: It makes you consider the choice of a suicide bomber. So there ya go. Try to find meaning a little deeper than who's red who's blue.

I wasn't racially stereotyping or being ignorant, i was just saying (like you) that a wallpaper like that has so many different possibilities, that it's impossible from looking at it to see who's the clear cut "terrorist" or, if there's even a terrorist.

Try to find meaning a little deeper than who's red who's blue. How exactly does "Isn't it obvious? Its the one with bombs strapped." equate to "Sand nigger" in your mind? I'll give you a hint. We call some of them soldiers. The odd man out has a bomb around her body. That's what makes her the terrorist. Even if she was an Arabian male, the bomb is all that matters. I'm sorry that you, at some point, were racist and equated the word "terrorist" to "sand nigger". However, that is not the way all of us think.
