I don't really like that picture (but that's just my own, personal, opinion) ; upon seeing you can't really help but think the "bad" guy is the one holding the gun. But most people would have did the same thing he did if placed in that situation : the Vietcong was part of a "revenge squad" that had murdered dozens of civilians earlier on. Anyways, here's my contribution to this thread : + Show Spoiler + ![]() Dead Che? Yeah, isn't this picture famous because it was used as an anit-war photo without context, but then it was revealed that the shooter had just found out the man had killed his family? I mean, honestly who knows what really happened since the photo is obviously too political to believe the "background stories" 100%. Still, really powerful photo

Islam is, in contrast to Christianity which demands spreading of the word, tolerant of other religions. Islam was the first "world" religion to publicly tolerate other religions. Is it americas fault we have so many religious idiots who know nothing of history or religion? The original post is horrible. The response is also terrible. Every religion/way of life has been exploited/abused by someone somewhere. Generalizations are useless and accomplish nothing. Why do we have to blame some group? Why is that group always the "other guys?"

Certainly the soldier, no? I don't think the boy would be treated and given drugs for PTSD.

If you look at his Wikipedia entry there is an alternative account of the story, which is that the mother had left the child there temporarily to go to the food camp. I'm guessing she was going to come back.
