This does NOT go well with formal attire. I wasn't gonna say anything when I saw the pic, because I personally know the watch. That's a 50mm case my man, it sticks out like a sore thumb! Not to say it's ugly or anything like that, I have a thing for all-black watches, but that is nowhere NEAR formal-attire-watch. I know that some might think formal watches are old-fashioned or stuff like that, but still, here's what formal watches should look like: ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/64xeU.jpg) ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/4Jrqr.jpg) And many, many variations. Sure, businessmen now-a-days wear rolex and omega divers, but those are not formal watches, not even business-casual. Trust me, I'm not in trend with anything fashion-wise, I don't even own a formal watch, but I know what they look like, and yours is not it.
well, the thing with omega is that you can always just say "its the moonwatch" and then everyone is like "oooooh thats cool".

If I was to buy a new one in that fashion (that didn't cost an arm and a leg), I'd pick Glashütte Nomos every day of the week. It's beautiful.

So proud that Skagen Denmark made it all the way to the states/Canada, the sales to Fossil really made it available throughout the world

I have the black Skagen titanium mesh watch and the mesh has come undone on a couple areas leaving exposed pointed wire and since it is titanium you can't really clip it off. Just a word of warning if you are buying one of those watches.

I don't get the watch thing. Really. I understand that if you are going to wear a watch, that you want it to look good. But keeping that in mind, I just bypass wearing a watch with formal wear. It's unlikely to be noticed under the shirt cuffs and jacket in any event.
So, with the above in mind, my watch is... + Show Spoiler +
Mostly because it's functional. If I am dressing up, odds are good that where I am going will have a clock. Or I can pull out my incredibly sexy Samsung Galaxy SII. I tend to go for the cufflinks, tie-tack, or the tie itself for "bling", and just don't wear a watch.
Edited response to below posts: + Show Spoiler +Indeed, I don't get it. Watches are not, nor ever will be, to me, "sexy". Wearing a hunk of shiny metal with a bunch of dials when there is really no need to do so just... doesn't make sense to me. Sorry to rain on the watch parade. Also, pocket protectors have never been worthwhile, and many people wear cell phone holsters. Cell phones are not sexy and they exude no individuality whatsoever; everyone has one.
Sure. Because everyone has an iPhone, right? You can use this exact argument on watches. They're bland chunks of metal, everyone has one, and there is no personality. Wait, you can also use this exact argument for shoes, clothes, etc, if you are willing to go completely to the absurd. It's a matter of tastes and preference. ... then of course, And please stand out with your watch. There is an overabundance of perfect Rolex replicas for 125$ that it makes no sense to wear them. They signal 0 status. Well, I guess if all you are looking for is a status indicator, and that's what matters, there you go. You enjoy that world you're living in, and I'll enjoy mine. If you go to a black tie event, a lot of people there will be wearing watches, probably expensive ones, and thus notice your watch as well. Not to say it's a shame to be without one, but I just feel naked now if I don't wear it, I usually realize I forgot it when I'm half-way down the stairs. If I'm at a black tie event, unless I'm wearing the watch on the outside of my jacket, no one will see it. (Unless I am using a pocket watch, which I haven't for years.) I do not notice other people's watches. Maybe because I am looking at other things, or am not attempting to assign a score of some kind. I dunno. The reasons for watch fetishism are many, I'm sure. Just like all of the rest. As long as you all enjoy it then, carry on.

It's a watch thing. You won't notice a watch, people who know watches will definitely notice them, ESPECIALLY with formal wear. I know that I've been in a lot of business meetings where someone is speaking to me and I get distracted noting a quarter of a Rolex face or something like that.

Also, taking out your phone to check the time seems so... unclassy, no matter what the phone is, especially if you're in a suit. But again, that's just mentality talking not practicality. Otherwise everyone would be wearing $10-20 quartz watches.

Excuse my bluntness but your statement comes off as incredibly clueless. Especially when you open with "I just don't get this. Really." Functional does not = sexy. That's why we don't wear pocket protectors and cellphone holsters. Cell phones are not sexy and they exude no individuality whatsoever; everyone has one. Wearing a watch is the #1 accessory a man has to stand out. Everything else is try-hard. I still see chumps wearing tuxedo tops with cufflinks but rocking the sneakers. And please stand out with your watch. There is an overabundance of perfect Rolex replicas for 125$ that it makes no sense to wear them. They signal 0 status.
I wear a limited edition dark maroon Movado automatic with a satin lattice band. No one has this watch, It is the only Dark Maroon Movado you will ever see anywhere. People say "Is that a Movado!?!?" It stands out in a subtle way.

I'm having the hardest time deciding on a watch if anyone wants to help me out. I am narrowing the features down but picking a specific one is torturing me.
Here is what I'm looking for
-Has to be currently available on Amazon -Under $200 -Leather Strap (or very easily changed to a leather strap) -Small-medium face, I have skinny woman wrists (I am a male though) -Classy, not sporty -Only feature I need is for it to tell the time (really narrowing it down...hah) -Prefer automatic as I don't mind having to wind it everyday if needed -Prefer it to not be a fashion watch brand -No gold on it
I've been looking (and liking) Seiko, Tissot, some Invictas, and some Citizens but it doesn't have to be one of these brands. Thanks in advance, lots of nice watches in this thread.

I've been looking on this exact one - I really like the metalic/blue nuances. It's abit of a bummer that it says "DENMARK" in the clock face as well... Invasive model name is bad enough, but country as well... Ugh.
Besides, it feels 'rednecky' to wear a watch that has your own country in large letters printed on it.. Maybe thats just me
I'd really like a stylish watch without model printed on the face of the clock, but alas, they seem impossible to find..

Really? Haha, to me it's quite the opposite I would love to have a watch that says Denmark on it...but this just might be the exotic-ness factor talking since I am not from there
