2 - Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations" or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3 The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.
Edit: Some links to image manipulation software for people without PS. It's all legit and free and much more powerful than MSPaint.
1. Paint.NET - more or less paint equivalent of Notepad++ 2. Inkscape - open source tool for vector graphics, similar to Illustrator or CorelDraw. Available on all platforms. 3. GIMP - almost as good as PhotoShop. Almost.
Bored, so I made another because the quote was awesome. I know it was supposed to be 4 or 5 words, but..
I had so much trouble with this because I couldn't figure out how to use the space.. eventually I got pissed off and just stuck the artist's name on the woman's face, ending up with the most generic layout - the vanilla PowerPoint Title/Subtitle. Which is funny because that's exactly what I'm using.
I didn't have photoshop installed on this computer so all I had was Paint. This is what I came up with.
The image was hard to obtain because I wasn't allowed to save it so I had to do some crude shit by printscreening it into paint and then cropping it at the end. xD
I sense some ridiculous Internet scam in this. How come so many band names, titles and images work so freaking well together?! And if they're done with someone who has some PS skills they do look like actual albums of alternative bands.

Yeah, that's just it, art is art and it's usually not that hard to create. Also, people like to see meaning and patterns in things.
Great thread, will probably give this a whirl in a couple of days when I have time.
Edit: I wanted to wrap the album title around the bird from the bottom where he touches the tree and around his beak a bit, but I didn't want to spend too much time on it.
These are amazing!! Some of them work so well together, and some of them are just hilarious! In fact, most are much, much better than actual album covers o.e ...anyway, thanks for the share
I want to do one, but I don't have photoshop and I don't like how the paint covers turn out :/
Edit: just read OP's last line as I was searching for a potential way. Thanks!
I never get anything funny... mine always come out serious. Last time I did it on a forum and I got a classy shot of a lamp in a Victorian-esque room with a classy band name (named after a european town) and profound album name.
That's because, just like Manifesto, you used the entire sentence from a quote instead of just the last couple of words. Your album title should read: "To be understood"
Track listing: 1. Forget to live 2. The Windshield 3. Goodness, Remembrance and Love 4. Justice 5. Visiting Other Eras 6. To Imagine is Everything 7. Our Life 8. Truth 9. Thou Art the Man 10. Injustice
Track listing: 1. When Open 2. Through Love and in Love 3. Perception and Thought 4. Escape the Tediousness of Life 5. Raise my Hand 6. Furnace of Tribulation 7. Continuation of the Species 8. But Only Love 9. If You Do it Right 10. Go Insane
Nice...
EDIT: Did the liberty to add tracks to my albums by picking a couple of phrases from 10 quotes on the same randomized quotations page. lol

I rolled a 4th time, did the quote first and got "Put Them In My Mouth" and decided that was a sign I should probably stop. I'm kinda amazed how appropriate it turned out each time, why does it always work lol
I got the worst wikipedia article for this... and I have no idea how to put all these into a picture. band: List of ship launches in 1963 album: Look like the people in magazines. cover: http://www.flickr.com/photos/boni13/5300928241/

God, I'm laughing so bad from some of these! That light pole, then just imagining this one above. Just makes no sense WHATSOEVER with anything there. The name of the band is just Golden!!! :D:D:D
I read this one and I was like.. "that's stupid.." ..and then I busted out laughing for some reason as I had some unknown extra bit of realization. I laughed hard.

I believe that Linux users already know that and I'm not sure how well it runs under Windows so I've added only software that I know to be working well (for example Emacs for Windows isn't very good).

GIMP works very well on windows, i'm using it for all my graphics stuff (which isn't much, but well... i'm a programmer, not an artist, jim)
We should also vote on TeamLiquid Grammy Award for Album of the Year I really have to nominate this one, spite of lacking in artistic style this band's attempt at breaking the social convention feels revolutionary.
The original quote was "Every artist is first an amateur", which was PERFECT for the picture (cans of spraypaint). But it was too long, so I settled for just "first an amateur". Also had to edit out some "property of" lines plus the original text.

P. S. I think we could add a rule, that if your wikipedia entry for band name includes unnecessary details/information that it could be scrapped (you could leave out "(novel)", ", Texas", "1922" etc.).

Wish I could figure out how to place the band name in a better manner ;_; Like all the things I got though, randomly the Wikipedia article had my name in it haha.
