Hey there. I am looking for a few people interested in helping Beta test League of Legends: Clash of Fates (LoL; CoF). You can see information of the game here:

I am looking for people who regularly play or have played DOTA. This game is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) and it is in the middle of its Beta phase. I keep getting beta keys and no one is using them, so I am making a thread here. If anyone is interested please send me a message here on the forums or reply to this thread. I will check it regularly. I really want people to actually play the ebta nd give feedback. Anything you guys can provide to make this game better would be awesome. I want the next DOTA to come out with a better engine and graphics, and we have an opportunity to do this.
The dev team at Riot talk to us every day on IRC and on the forums. They play with us on the weekends and have a saturday night vent conference where everyone can voice their opinion on the weeks patch. Every week a patch is issued and every weekend (sometimes thursday and friday) is the play time currently. Once more people get into the beta the window to play will be increased.

Holy balls, there are a TON of people interested in this game. Sorry, I only have two beta keys at the moment. I have messaeged people and as soon as they get back to me I will e-mail the two keys I have out.
The reason I have extra beta keys is that every beta tester gets keys to give away to friends. It used to be every three weeks of activated account playing (I have been in the Beta since February) but recentely they gave me one a week. I dont have any more RL friends to give them to so I came here.

I signed up for beta testing months and months and months ago but I never got an e-mail so I guess I was denied. T-T

They also have weekly compitions for people to get into beta and there used to be (I dont know if its still going on, I only read the ebta boards now) a daily raffle. Everyone who posts the day before has a chance at winning the daily beta key. So there are other ways! Anyway, thanks for all the feedback and keep posting here if you want me to try to get you into the LoL Beta

I've been really interested and have been making posts on the LoL forums for awhile now. I stopped recently because of work, but I'd still love to be a part of the beta test. As for DotA experience, I used to be a bugs moderator on the old DotA-Allstars forums under Guinsoo, but I went inactive for awhile until about 6.10, when I started playing again. I've never really gotten competitive, but I think it'd be a good idea if there's a balance between casual players and competitive players in a beta test anyway.

Would love to get a key. Signed up for the beta lottery a day or two after the option was available but I've not had any luck. A friend and I even tried posting on the forums a lot, but ran out of things to say pretty quickly.

I'm very interested in helping out with the beta and the game as a whole. I've played DotA for a few years now, and although DotA Allstars sure is fun, the community is lacking in friendly people and teamwork. Even worse, these days there are now programs like Virtual Custom Kick, which allows a host to kick anyone they want from their game, anytime. The problem with this is that many hosts lie or do not warn the people in the game that he has a Custom Kick and may use it. Many people are kicked, many times for ridiculous reasons, such as dying once even though they've been on a dominating streak. This really frustrates me and I'm sure it frustrates others too, since it totally ruins your game and wastes your time.
I want to be able to help out with the Beta to mold a new community: one with fair people who will have fun and enjoy their time. In addition, with summer around, I will be able to work 100% on this game to improve it, and will be able to give any feedback I will come up with and suggest any ideas for balancing purposes or such. I wish to support Riot Games and hope I will be chosen to participate in the Beta .

Im really ineterested in the beta key, ive been playing dota since 2006, participating in a wide range of dota tournaments online or at a lan center. These include Cevo free, cal o and cal i, as well as tournaments at Howies Game Shack. Ive been the leader of Clan DN and clan d2r both clans made for the purpose of playing dota competitively. I really wish to test League of Legends for its competitve aspect and see if it can gain popularity such as dota did. If you offer me the chance of receving a cd key i will post the best feedback i can and maybe some VOD's of myself playing if possible thank you for considering me as a canidate thanks again.

i just played about 5 games.. pretty interesting, very dota like.

I like how out of 62 replies, there are like 13 people who's only post on this forum is asking for a beta key.
And to those playing it, whats the difference between this and dota? I know they are suppose to be a similar game, but what makes this better/different?

its obviously a new engine.. so its kinda frustrating at times if you try acting like its war3. umm, other than that, honestly its SO similar.
It has "recommended items" for each character, so you can at least keep up with going the recommended item combos for each char, instead of being totally lost on a new char.
from what I can tell, no more denying, which I thought was a big thing for dota.

there's a pretty big debate going on for denying right now though.
anyways, the game is very very different by it still contains many of the basic principles of dota. there are tons of differences. for example every hero can start off with two basics spells which you choose out of 10 total i believe. there are heals, escapes, slows, tons of stuff like that. it's a pretty different game.

I would love a key if any one could spare one. I play a lot of dota but have found it to be growing stale. Despite that i really like the game style of dotaesque games and have been looking for a quality one. With the design team on this one i feel like this one has to be the best chance of a really quality game.

I'd also love to be a part of the LoL Beta experience. I have signed up to the LoL forums and made quite a few comments already from my few games of experience on a friends account. I am waiting as paitently as possible for my access to this game. I've played Dota with a group of 5+ friends from practically the begining of the game and would love to continue this experience with LoL =]

I'm very interested in a beta, played DotA semi-regularly for lots of years (before they even had a loading screen, however far back that was) and am now playing HoN. Am pretty curious to see the difference to DotA and how they have made the concept evolve.

I have been playing dota for a few years and I still play it on most of my gaming time. I play inhouse, clan and dota-league games on Northrend. I checked out LoL like months ago and was (I think) rejected by the beta signup :S even though I gave them lots of info/referrals. Anyway if u have any keys left feel free to PM me bcz LoL looks like it's going to be the king of MOBAs and DotA is turning into routine for me except for good games with only mates.

I gotta say, this thread impressed me with the TL community (I lurk here).
Everywhere else on the internet I see so many HoN players bash LoL and try to convince people it's not worth even testing. So far I haven't seen that at all in this thread :D.
Is there any way I can give my extra LoL key or 2 to the thread starter so more people can receive them?

Since when did Blizzard ever had the rights to the DOTA genre? All the names, icons, etc. Are different. Only gameplay is the same.

But it's not like total noobs won't play LoL, so why not give one to a noob, so you get a wider range of criticisms?

On the other hand, if you have a friend who played LoL prior to 8/15/09 , ask them for an invite because that's how i got my key.

this game is pretty fun. i never played dota before and so playing the beta was a new experience for me. it does take a long time on average to finish a game, like an hour.

I got a key from Nitrogen (thanks buddy) and I felt the need to post here, how awesome this game is. It's really cool, great playstyle, fun cartoony graphics and ridiculous heroes and kills. Really good fun and brilliant alternative to DotA and HoN. Don't be put off by how daunting it seems at first, play one game with just friends and look through the first screen menus and it will explain a lot.

I just got mine, installing now I think I'm allowed one invite i'll update post once I get this installed it's kinda slow atm. Kinda scared of how owned i'm gonna get, never played dota before.

LoL is a lot easier than Dota (at lower levels). I wouldn't worry about it
just have good map awareness and harass and last hit. you'll be good ;D

looking for a LoL beta key ended up catching one of my friends playing it was impressed by all the nice features they put in it but disgusted by his terrible game play and noobmanship i feel that with a key i could bring justice to what a good player should be like in a beta

After playing for two hours and just playing pub I wasn't overwhelmed at all pretty basic stuff, Rune system makes no sense to me but went positive both pub games after i went like 3/6/*. Me and Teemo are gonna be buds 4 life.

After playing for two hours and just playing pub I wasn't overwhelmed at all pretty basic stuff, Rune system makes no sense to me but went positive both pub games after i went like 3/6/*. Me and Teemo are gonna be buds 4 life.
Look at the rune syster on the "View summoner profile" pages and it's all cleared up there. You'll realise how simple it is. I think that the game should force you into that screen when you first load.

I keep getting the "this program cannot display the webpage" error, even when my internet connection is working fine.

It is a problem with today's patch.
Go to the LoL beta boards and search : 'program cannot display webpage'
go to the thread by Galaxy and there's a post by an admin at the bottom of the 2nd page for a fix. see if that works.

Just played the game, it seems the tower are weaker than in dota, which leads to earlier pushes and shorter games;
also most items benefit the team with some sort of aura effect.

For those wanting for keys, try camping the facebook page. I know 3 people who have gotten keys that way already. They give away about 400~ a week.
Taric's stun isn't that bad. Just don't run too far away from him when you see it =/
Jax is awesome though, but I've barely seen anyone do well on him.
I do actually like all the characters I've seen so far. A lot seem a bit ridiculous at times though, but it's rare that a character will basically solo a whole team like in DotA.

I play both actively and I don't prefer one over the other.
HoN is more competitive and the skill level is generally higher. Its also more DotA like so everyone is an asshole and the heroes are copy pasted.
LoL has more interesting heroes and the gameplay offers a nice change from dota. Though players are generally pretty shit, and Guinsoo is a fag.
When I get sick of the bullshit in one, I play the other.

I'm not sure why. In games I've played I've not seen people do well on Jax. I don't know why that's funny.

taric's stun is mad annoying it's like a 2 second CD roflmao
so far the characters i like to use are Veigar and kassadin. omg. if you stack AP on both of them holy crap they do a lot of damage.

Cause once you've played with/against a competent Jax that knows how to get creep buffs and tower dive, you'll start to rethink about Jax.

I usually play Nunu and Teemo AP builds, sometimes i just tank with Nunu if I'm on a team full of ranged/casters just to suicide in and make them waste their ults on me. Nunu's ult if u do an AP build can do like 1.75-2k dmg it's insane lol
BTW: TL members post your id's would be nice to do a premade gotta wait till tomorrow since we all gotta reinstall anyway but I'm SpudBoy on there.

For casters, you can't go wrong with stacking AP in my opinion and just using your runes to cover up your HP/regen stuff.

It's more of an issue of Jax being so imba that I'm amazed that you haven't seen a good Jax user yet. :O Get Smite/Rally, stack HP runes, just jungle and gank when your team needs it. Or get Ghost/Exhaust, stack crit runes, and abuse Empower early on. The champion is just so ridiculous right now.
Annie was pretty popular a few patches ago but there's been a big decrease in Annie users since the Tibbers nerf. It wasn't even a big nerf too, but people are fickle.
As for AP building, Mejai's is bar none, the best item to get. Lucky Pick build works too, likewise with Avarice Blades for melee/DPS.

The Ring is a great item for late game...that 25% increase in AP is just AMAZING.

Tryndamere (or w/e the name is) is a beast, can stay in his lane forever with his free heal skill, and with a proper rune setup for crit dmg and the crit damage weapon (250% wpn dmg) he can 1 shot the creeps and decimate other heroes if he doesn't get disabled. His passive can give him 40% crit chance, so it's easy to reach near 100% with runes, talents and items.

I hate playing against that guy. So annoying when you're about to kill him and he pops his "LOLOL CAN'T DIE LOL" spell (that's what it feels like people are saying when they play him and use that spell).
I've still not encountered a bad champion. Lots of them seem really powerful. The skills that move enemies (specifically Singed's Fling and Bliztcrank's Rocket Grab) are incredibly powerful, especially with some other champion's skills (Nunu's ultimate for example) or for getting people owned by towers. The only time a hero feels bad is if you're playing a support and you've got no-one competant to support.

My friend has LoL, he uninstalled it after we watched him play for like 5 minutes. The game has some cool features and all new heroes and spells but the depth of the game and graphics compared to HoN are just bad. I mean you can't even deny kills, wtf is that shit?
Seems like it was made for kids. Really cartooning and 'cute' looking.
