There is a thread on the temporary Tetris Concept forums about it. It has already started, but you might still be able to get in. You should sign up on the temp forums or swing by #tetrisconcept on QuakeNET and ask about it. Also, apparently the videos were more screwed up than we originally thought. The direct download is probably going to be without sound, since everything was getting desynced. :<

Edit: To clarify, nothing bothers me more than a fucked up RNG to ruin an otherwise fine game. GIVE THE PLAYERS THE SAME FUCKING PIECES. Jeez. Also, they punish for leaving early, which is just DOTA all over again. So annoying.

Also, they punish for leaving early, which is just DOTA all over again. So annoying. BlockBox give everyone the same sequences. ![]() However, keep in mind that Tetris Friends uses the "bag" randomizer -- it shuffles all 7 unique pieces, deals each piece, and repeats. Although you might get the pieces in a slightly different order, you'll still be getting the same piece distribution. I do agree that the ideal is matched sequences, but things aren't _too_ bad with identical distributions. Also, they punish for leaving early so you can't hit F5 when you lose and avoid a rating hit. The same thing was the case with Tetris DS. Game subtracts from both players first, and you only get them back when you win or the other person disconnects. RE: Direct downloads: Does anyone want the semi-broken, commercial bloated .asf files? I don't know what is going on with the attempted edit. :/

EDIT: On June 27 2009 08:39 Adeny wrote: Oh I agree on punishing leaving early, but not punishing EXTRA. Also even with bag randomizer, you could be cheated out of an extra tetris because you're getting your line-piece late, and you could get starts where you have to slow-drop Z or S pieces while your opponent can insta-drop everything. I know it's not such a big deal but it just seems ridiculous to me, it's such an easy luck-factor to remove. I definitely agree. That's why I'm glad that Blockbox gives everyone the same sequence, won't give you S, Z, or O as the first piece, -- thanks, TGM randomization! -- and has a sonic drop instead of soft drop so you can do extremely fast slides and twists. ![]()
