When i am accurate, or near accurate, i can't really see it during play without being distracted because the stripes (which my guess is represent timing of notes?) are too close together. When i am not accurate, it's most of the times so obvious what i did wrong i didn't need the bar. Do you guys use it for replays or something? (I almost never look at replays) If the bars are clumped before/after the exact center of the bar, you adjust the offset. If I feel I need to adjust it I just check after the first bunch of 1/2 notes and then set the offset. I'd say about 1/5th of maps I play can use ±5ms, most of the time I use a -3 or a -5ms but it varies. It's not a lot but it can be the difference between 98,5% or 99,5% ![[image loading]](http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/1099125) ![[image loading]](http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/1099127) Patterns like these on stream timings are impossible :< Wait, you can adjust offset per map? :O I learn something new every day...
edit: or do you adjust your 'general' offset per map?

Per map. You know when a map shows online offset? your supposed to set that offset yourself locally. (took me forever to figure that one out)

usually it goes in increments of 5 but you can hold alt and press + or - to go in increments of 1

I've been having some serious some serious frustration with cursor drift lately so much so that I'm in the position that sometimes I'll have to lift my mouse off the pad to re-adjust during some easier sliders. It takes some serious self control not to lift up my mouse and my accuracy takes a nose dive when I don't but that way I usually don't break combo.
I play mouse only on 1.1x 450 DPI (effective 500) with my razer abysus. I've been experimenting with rotating the mouse instead of lifting it to change the apparent x-y axis during play to make the adjusts but this method seems doomed to failure.
Has anyone else had an issue like this and found a solution?

Has anyone else had an issue like this and found a solution? i had that, as well as serious aim inconsistencies with my old mouse. That was a generic microsoft mouse. Now i play with a cm storm xornet all problems are gone.
I don't want to push you to buy a new mouse immediately, as there could be a multitude of relevant factors (and i know nothing of mice). But if you decide to, i think the xornet is a good mouse, at least for osu.
Btw, try pming Cyro (tl-name), he knows quite a bit on this subject.
edit: @ xafnia and megamanexe, thanks for the tips, i would never have found that out by myself.

I actually bought my Razer Abysus specifically for osu! (14 months ago) it was the only mouse in my price range that had a 'perfect' optic sensor (specifically no prediction like acceleration, angle snapping, etc) so I am inclined to believe it is my grip more than anything. Some people reported jitter issues with this mouse but I haven't had any of that. Thanks for the advice and I'll give Cyro a PM.
Edit: Also that mouse looks way, way, too wide. Here's mine for comparison: + Show Spoiler +**not actually my desk or keyboard, just a good image of the mouse ![[image loading]](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2505/4208520808_8c0b852736.jpg)

Razer mouses tend to behave weird after some months (my razer lachesis startet to jitter, stuck, jump, you name it.. 15 months after purchasing it.
That generalization is induced by several people on these forums sasying a similar thing

But after a few days of getting used to, the wideness helped in stabilizing my grip. Result is better grip and less tension on my fingers. I don't know if it works for you, but it works for me
btw relevant info might be that im used to 1000 dpi. I think this makes tension minimalisation quite important compared to lower dpi.

So with the help of Cyro we determined that my DPI was way way way way too low. 500DPI on 1920x1080 doesn't work, I've since upped to to 600 and have been seeing massive gains (and have already been toying with the idea of a wider mouse XD). I will continue to up the DPI in coming days so long as the game feels easier that way. I was super stoked when I was able to almost FC Kagerou Days:+ Show Spoiler +I slipped on sliders three times ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/78ItOak.png)

Passed 2 songs that I've been working on for the last two weeks!:D Particularly proud of the last 2 ones considering my skill atm, felt like certain parts of those song were just way out of my league.

gratz on the caren fc! I dont have the map, but fcing a caren map is most of the time pretty impressive
I've come here to post one of my practice achievements from today: + Show Spoiler +http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/1112809 I'm happy with a few things: first of all the combo, i havent really had this high combo at this map with hr. The jumps seem pretty hard. But more importantly, the acc went above 90%. I'm really bad at higher speeds (i call this high, so....) . hr'ing 236 bpm with annoying jumps + streams (although not a lot) is mostly a guarantueed C with me. On to getting an A and further improving speed + control :D

Cookiezi just had his scores deleted. Truly the end of an era.

Wait .. what? Did he stop this time finally? Why the deletion of the scores? D:

wtf? Cookiezi? TT
Well, i actually dont really care. There are other people atm i'm working towards skillwise.

Hmm from what I've heard, he had a problem with his eyes or something and he wanted his account to be deleted. So he came back with a hack to ban himself. tdlr; osu!--->eyes deteriorating-->hack-->ban at least, thats what i know...

Even if it was just a game like Osu, the best in the world 'retiring' is a pretty sad day.
