You'll want to slowly move to keyboard only later on. Basically x/z on the keyboard, while the mouse points. Some people like using tablets too, but there's really no realistic difference, although some really good players use the tablet.

There's no universally "best" way to play. When you get to the really hard stuff eventually you'll NEED to alternate between both buttons because it's basically impossible to tap something like 240 BPM 8th notes (effectively 480 BPM) on one key. I prefer using the keyboard keys, but there are players out there who use the mouse buttons and are better than I am. Video 1: level 50 Video 2: level 27 Video 3: level 20 (with Flashlight mod) Video 4: level 33 This one starts off boring. Gets more interesting starting at 2:00 Gets insane a bit later. Video 5: Level 40 Everything here is a hold, even the ones that look like standard notes. 2000 holds to be exact.

Probably could 100% it if I tried a bunch more times, but that was the first play on that difficulty so i was impressed with myself.

The beginning of the filename starts with something like this: [e1 n2 h4] this code describes the o2jam difficulty levels for each difficulty. There are a number of glitches that can happen playing these, and they take a long time to load. Preview music doesn't work because technically, none of those maps have an mp3 file at all. The music is constructed of small samples played as storyboard audio samples. Occasionally the background music contained in these doesn't play, but the keysounds will still play. here's a few maps that are available on there that I suggest learning from: http://www.mediafire.com/?79awi20fjkxjcuj [e1 n1 h2] Impact Line - Little Zoo. This is a good starting point if you are JUST beginning mania and want to try about the easiest thing out there. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?phiiuq4f1t69ces [e3 n17 h34] SHK - Identity. This is a song you might be familiar with from maps like Identity Part 2, 3, and 4 (I think all of those have been mapped for standard)... This is on the list mostly for the easy, because it's a good song and the easy is pretty good for something in the lvl 1-5 range. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?0o4cipaejcq74zg [e1 n3 h6] Impact Line - Nocturne Op.9-2. It's a Chopin Nocturne. This song is a great starting point in general. All 3 difficulties are relatively easy, there are some subtle speed changes, but it's relatively slow, and they're small changes. It also presents a few interesting key combinations. Good training in general, and relatively easy overall.

i've been tapping with my middle finger for a long time, however, it turns out that i think im faster/more accurate with my other finger, but i'm not really good at starting streams on it - think i should practise with that one leading instead?
