Thus, because I've played it so much, my aim is much farther ahead than the rest of the curve. And yes, Quake players can "Halo Jump", although you can get going MUCH faster than you could in Halo. You're correct that MW2 is more position based, I was simply saying that because Modern Warfare is ran on an engine that is based off of ID Tech 3 (no, wiki won't show you that because Infinity Ward doesn't want you to know. Do some more extensive research and you'll see) the game in quite a few aspects feels a lot the same as Quake, and you can even go so far as to compare CoD 4's console / a config_mp.cfg for Modern Warfare 2 to that of quake 3, you'll notice a LOT of the commands are identical, up to the point that IW had to start updating the engine for their game. I've also played competitive Halo, and I completely agree with you. While the game has a lot to do with movement, what that game boils down to is teamwork. To compare, in Halo, one guy can't take on four with his battle rifle. In MW2, I could drop 5 guys no problem assuming my position was good enough to take them all down before they kill me, and I can make the shots connect. Also: I don't know where this thread is going anymore Who cares where the thread is going? We're having a good discussion comparing different FPSs. Anyways, I think MW2 lack of movement based play works against it. In Halo you have to have excellent aim while strafing, jumping, and crouching. In MW2, you drop shot as soon as you see the other player and you just aim in his general direction while spamming the trigger. I'd still prefer to play H3 just because in my mind it takes more skill.

Attack helicopter = 10 kills ez. So frustrating! Can't wait till 30(?) again. I rarely ever shoot any air support down. If I do, I switch to the default class with Danger Close and the AT-4. I just seem to have really good luck with enemy choppers and stuff ignoring me. Whenever they get a Chopper Gunner or AC-130, I usually just wait it out though. Does anyone else like shooting down UAV's with regular weapons? They go down so quickly.

I'd still prefer to play H3 just because in my mind it takes more skill. On console, of course H3 takes more skill. Half the reason why I play COD over quake is because COD is SOOOOOOOOOOO easy (And I don't have the time to invest into Quake to stay on top of my game anymore) Higher-Level CoD4 was definitely based more on movement than you would find in a pub, where the majority of the players find a nice spot to sit and frag people from. For example, on mp_crash search and destroy, a common spot was for a guy to prone in the middle of the bottom floor in the A building, to kill anyone who ran in before they made it up the stairs to the bombsite. To counter this, what would often happen was a Spec-Ops player would circle-strafe jump around the corner, and fly over the prone guy at almost twice sprinting speed while putting shots into him. I believe COD would be more movement based if everyone had more health. In any FPS I can think of that is movement-based (Quake and Halo are perfect examples), it will take you more than a quarter of a second to kill an opponent. In Halo, the quickest kill you can get with a battle rifle is a 4shot, which will still take quite some time, and the player being hit has the opportunity to dodge, and shoot back, causing you to take more than four shots to kill and also giving him the chance to also come out on top. You can't really have that in COD because if you see someone, and you can aim, that guy is dead. (Hence why I think UAV is hilarious and is a wallhack, because once I've found out WHERE you are, killing you is the easy part.)

Even in H3 SWAT, which is what I play, which is theoretically one hit kills (except that the netcode sucks and our bullets get lost in the mass of tubes that is the internet), the game is still high paced movement based. So I'm not sure the Health issue is that big a deal. Honestly, I can't wait for my capture card to arrive in the mail so I can start uploading some high level Gamebattles customs gameplay for you guys. Some of the kids I play with are absolutely godlike. The most amazing plays are the ones where some kid with a high sensitivity spins around 360 degrees while shooting three people perfectly in the head. And an even better wallhack is the heartbeat sensor. In hardcore 90% of people run ninja so it's a little useless, but in Core.... omg, shooting down those retards running around with commando before you even see them is so much fun.

It's okay, if you're lucky there is someone like me in the game that DOES shoot air support down because that wins games on a routine basis. Nothing pisses off people more than seeing their hard earned AC-130 die in 10 seconds. I love the tears. I also shoot UAV's down all the time. Not only does it count toward the CB challenge but UAV's allow my team to remain INCOGNITO BOY

This was disproven in a youtube video (at least on the PC version) link: Air support was crazy JD-esque imba for a little bit and now people are equiping stingers to take them out so it's not as bad

You have to EMP first then the outcome of that he can't nuke while on EMP stage. So during that EMP stage your team better start killing or it will happen.

Sorry but thats about the only reason that someone could like the AA12 better than the SPAS.
