You're assuming the sniper missed or already killed you. If he already killed you he is now +1 and can change his spot to catch the idiot trying to respawn and flank his old position and end up +2.
It's all patience.
Which is what I think has no place in what should be a fast-paced action packed FPS.

Eh... the game has a prone mechanic. I don't think it's supposed as fast-paced as you want it to be.

I have the complete opposite view on terminal. I love spawning at the bottom. I climb up the latter onto the red roof and can cover B, C, the plane, the book store and some of A. When you have B and C and they are spawning at A, its just rape.
If they take the top of the escalators you can either go out through the plane like you discussed, or up the metal stairs into the room below the red roof and flank the escalators or go bookshop or A.
Spawning bottom, you can also rush under the plane and throw a nade/semtex through the window into A and grab a bunch of kills.
IMO the most imba maps starting position wise are Estate, where the house is amazing, and Karachi, where spawning at C is fucking impossible, you get spawn trapped SO easily.

this, but I suppose they're talking TDM where you're pretty much spawntrapped since 1-2 in the plane is enough to cover the tarmac and the rest can just wait at the top of the escalators.
interestingly enough, idc what side I spawn with. with Marine (or tf141, never remember which one is on which map, let's just say CT) I camp snipe T going C and cover the bookstore when we start the game. then I can do rotations around C and A to cover half the map quite easily. if I spawn T, I do the counter sniping for C (because quickscope rapes people who are retarded) until I get stunned/flashed at which point I crawl to the hallway that leads to A/bookstore and keep an eye on B at the same time.
when needed though, I push from the tarmac into the plane and quickscope onto A to secure the area. while the barrels/whatever covers you in the thingy that connects the plane to the terminal sucks compared to the desks/other covers they have, with a couple of good shots and tactical insertions it's quite fun to push.
Estate sucks but honestly I'd rather spawn @ C, some people just have no clue of what they're doing when they're defending the house so it's easy to creep up using the greenhouse or sidling the wall to get into the area so many snipers like but so many snipers forget they're completely open when they're in it.
Karachi is the new Bog.

A halfway decent player is still gonna know what direction it probably came from. You gotta know the maps for HC. If you're not charging out into open areas, snipers aren't even much of a problem.
It's definitely not a fast paced action packed shooter. That's something like quake or doom or halo. strategy and patience actually matter in this, even in basic mode. but there's a huge skillgap between the two. it's like the jump between money maps and non-money maps in BW.

you do realize that decent players consist about 10% of the player pool right? and idk on what platform you're playing but on PC only premade groups are "decent" and honestly the only reason they have the advantage is because they actually work together
I haven't been in a "gg" (read: close game) in about 2 days of gametime, so yeah it does make me have a grim view on things.

I keep using the scar on this lvl cause its the only good rifle that can help me get sleight hand pro. I have been griding crazy on 1st prestige to get lvl 70, now its 2 times harder to get XP on 2nd prestige until you get to lvl 40 then you start racking them 1000k XP that im looking for. Friends love them or hate them >

I play on xbox (friend who wanted me to buy it plays on xbox) and the majority of the games are lopsided (1000+ difference in team death match). But I have been in nail biters including a couple games that ended 7500-7400. Those finishes are always fun. Then there was another time the score was 7200-7000 and I ended it on a triple kill with a predator missile. That felt good lol.

Yeah it's rare to have a domination game end with less than a 50 point differential. I'm starting to just stick to HC TDM now that I've grinded my way up to lvl 70 again. It's more fun.
Domination and HQ and Sabo are good for fast leveling and gun challenges, but I'm getting tired of running up against full teams and getting my face smashed in. Trying to coordinate a lobby full of pubs and communicating with people with no mics stresses me out.
At least in HC TDM I can chillax and do my own thing. I figure as long as I'm watching a lane or two and my k/d stays positive, I'm doing my part to help my team.
edit: this is probably too good to be true, but has anyone seen the spam in the youtube comments about a free (i'm assuming cracked) version of MW2 PC? I'd like to play with some of you PC guys but I don't feel like paying for a different version of a game I already own.

The original Halo was fast paced, maybe even Halo 2? Eh?
Halo 3 on the other hand..... oh god. Taking Guardian Team Slayer out of the circuit was the smartest thing MLG ever did. That shit was a snooze fest.

I have to agree with Hawk here. From a Hardcore point of view, MW2 and MW have always been tactics over reaction time. I play HC - TDM, S&D, and HQ. I can tell you that positioning, the way you move from one point to another will determine how well you do. When i play any mode, my mindset is to get in a position where i do not have to test my reaction time against another player. Ie. its not about who shoots more accurately or first. It's about moving to an advantageous position where you have the element of surprise, more time to set up, or even a position that is hard for your opponents to fire upon.
So knowing the maps and understanding where your opponents are and where they want to go are all very important. Camping only works to a certain extent. It may yield you 2, maybe 3 kills, but in the end its going to be about making it safely to an advantageous position, controlling it, then moving on to another even MORE advantageous position. I know i have succeeded tactically when i see the backs of my opponents. Of course all these positions are not static, they all depend on how well you understand and react the movements of your foes.
I find myself thinking and checking my world map a lot when i play MW2. I get a better grasp of where the enemy is by looking at the concentration of my own men and where they are pointed toward. Rushing into battle is always a mistake. It always pays to be patient with the tactical advantage.

the more i play this on the pc the more it just pisses me off
Can't choose maps (which actually matters because a few of them are garbage) Can't do shit when hackers are in the game Can't do shit when its lagging, isn't it supposed to switch hosts? Even when there is "no" lag there is still a slight delay Noobtubers 1887s Commando tact knife. No skill in sprinting at people and lunging IWnet fucks around too much in the lobby Sometimes retardedly hard to get a game with a party of even 2 people
fucking hate karachi. Making players either roof or die is very poor

I agree, it's better on console, but a few of those points I still feel the same about. I hate Karachi with a passion. And I agree, delay is fucking annoying, same with 1887s, altho it's not as easy to aim with on PS3, it's still pretty simple. No hackers yet, but I've heard some people mod their PS3 controllers so that they can replace it with a mouse on the right side of it...I'm not sure about that, but also something about a lag switch.

been using the spaz since i hit prestige, turns out i've got more kills with that than my assault rifles. Stick a grip on it and it is a fucking beast, will 1 hit guys with the health deathperk. Can't use it on all maps though, i hate quarry but running around with the spaz on demolition is pretty fun.

Just finished single-player campaign and I have to say it's pretty good! Story was very engaging, not very realistic but it's quite good, ending was very satisfying. Not gonna play multiplayer though, I know it's going to suck
