Actually Velocity and Angular are the two best to have. Angular tells you if you can hit him, i mean you could put traversal but then you'd have to convert it to angular to check against your tracking but whatever. Velocity tells you if hes burning or not, and whether or not its towards or away.
This assumes that distance is a given. Everything else is simply clutter.

That would be Radial Velocity btw. Velocity does not care for the direction.

personally i just hide my overview, it saves so much space so that i can see what is going on around me. with the tactical overlay and brackets you can really see everything you need to anyway.

well, since you bring up syndicate,
Top 5 null sec regions for PVP losses in Feb so far: Syndicate - 11670, Venal - 8166, Geminate - 7941, Insmother - 7205, Curse - 6875.

FD- is a blemish on the face of syndicate and to think, something so disgraceful in such proximity to poitot (the only named system in syndicate), the symbol of all that is good in eve

Is that number adjusted to account for Falcons?

theres a bit of mental gymnastics to this.
Radial gives you speed in relationship to you, velocity just tells you how fast its moving. Now if velocity < my velocity I know immediately whether or not kiting will be an issue despite who is chasing who. radial can help to hide the true speed capability. This is incredibly useful for sizing up a frig fight. But I misspoke, its not vanilla velocity telling me the direction of the thrust, but since distance is already pretty standard as well as having eyes I don't find radial to really offer me much.

Bought Adiman for 2.5b. Awoxed a bunch of guys, stole 3b, trashed his employment/killboard history. Sold him 40 days later to the Delve goons for 5b.

We are hoping to have a number of small releases as we go through February, March and April culminating in our major, war-themed release coming just before the summer, EVE Online: Inferno
The next few months will be spent reinvigorating Concord-sanctioned warfare, giving tools and a framework to groups who wish to take advantage of these conflicts both directly and indirectly. We are also looking to introduce many new things which will mix up all forms of combat in a way not seen for a long time. Factional Warfare will also be seeing changes to make it much more relevant and fun by giving real reasons to fight for your faction.
As we continue development there will also be smaller changes, improvements and usability fixes, and we will not forsake our game performance focus. We will be making some changes and additions to our avatar technology and many other parts of the game. The websites will continue their metamorphoses and there may even be sight of more developer events on TQ.
Finally, we will revealing more concrete steps in the link between EVE and DUST 514, bringing an unprecedented level of collaboration, conflict and purpose to both games living in the same EVE Universe. http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=3433

Sheth, I'm hearing something about plexes on a rifter. See me.

Sheth is in trouble!
Also I am really hoping ccp fixes sec status hits in low sec in the next expansion, being forced to pve to access all content after pvp:ing in low sec is really bad and it creates a high entry barrier for new pvp:ers wanting to try pvp in low sec. I also hope they nerf wardecs. Having 1 man corp wardec corps who can't fight back is just weak and really cheap and there is no way to actually win any fight since the real warlords use 10 guardians on a station.
