![]() Jumping into that with the green marked ships turned out to be a huge clusterfuck. http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=11767795 Looks worse than it actually is, because we held the field and looted the stuff, but what can you do, noone wants to jump into a hatchery gatecamp ![]()

![]() We immediately lose loki and zealot, most of our total losses. Once we're in open space the real fight starts and we begin tearing them apart. For the next forty minutes we slowly isolated ships, dodging warpins, burning like crazy, trying to lure weaker ships into the open and focus them down while the scimmies desperately tried to undo our dancing missileboats. However they were not content with the initial gang on the gate that we jumped into. Mordu's Angels backed them up with a recon/bomber gang, they decloaked two falcons and an arazu, they added a third scimitar, some more fast tackle and continually reshipped losses. Meanwhile Nou rammed a drake in his sniper nado. Eventually they disengaged and moved back to the safety of the gate under three scimmy reps. I valiantly led our gang for another gank on a huginn and went in for the web myself, getting counter webbed and primaried down by drakes in a job that could have easily been done by a rifter. In retrospect I should have just told him to warp to gate at 0 and scram the huginn. Whatever. With their last recon down their hopes were broken and they began a disengage, leaving a domi to die and the field to the Hatchery fleet a fraction of their size. They picked the field. They picked the ideal composition to counter us. They used 3x our numbers. We won. Hatchery life.

The killboard speaks for itself Right back at you: http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=home (edit: lol this month is off to a bad start) 10 - 40 ppls in our nightly gangs. I think you meant 40+ people in your capital support Abaddon fleets. Oh, or did you mean your 40+ drake fleets with recon and logi support that you only fight when outnumbering your opponents 2 to 1 2 to 1 odds still worrisome? 3 to 1 just to be safe then. nono, 8 to 1 Like they may or may not even include 11 titans. Even your opponents have the honor of bringing random t1 ships and no logi. You even rig your battle reports to put all losses on the enemy side and no losses on the friendly side Am I being too harsh? edit: Minimum 1000 kills. So according to your killboard, only 3 of your currently active pilots even qualify to be in your corporation right now.

There are a lot of people who like their pvp experience to be lock -- f1 -- repeat, maybe with a little bit of broadcast for logi reps. I can't disparage them for their choices. This is a sandbox after all. At some point around 'gangsize > 15-20' there's simply not much room for the regular fleet member to meaningfully impact the fight. It does, however, provide the ability to whore some seriously good killboard stats. A random anecdote that I think illustrates the difference between us and certain nullsec entities: Fatal Ascension is in UMI-KK (NC. home system, if I'm not mistaken) with a 20 man gang, with 3 scimitar + lach / proteus/ cynabal, 10 BCs and some light tackle. NCDOT forms up a gang of about 20 drakes + 10 scimmies + dictor support, then proceeds to smack talk FA for not engaging (comments about growing balls abound in local, etc. etc.) 2 systems away, we engage the FA gang with a tengu, 5 drakes, and 4 rifters, with pretty good results. (BR sort of noncomprehensive since the lone drake loss came when we caught the bulk of their fleet out of position.) Occasionally shit goes extremely bad, like today, and we die in expensive fires in rather unfavorable odds, but better this than playing the null-sec numbers game, where skillpoints dominates decision-making in terms of importance.

I think there is legitimately room to criticize the actions of big alliances (and their members) who are fighting only when the odds are highly favoring them. They are responsible for the huge immobile blobs on this map. Instead of challenging themselves to provide interesting opposition for newcoming and smaller alliances and corporation while they have skills and fitting advantages (and supposedly experience), they hide like cowards waiting the point where they could crush them. Every human is capable of killing a fly. But not every fly is capable of killing another one. They are breaking the paradigm of the game by treating their possessions as if it would matter if they lost. I find such people saddening in the game. When you stop challenging yourself, you become despicable and I think it's perfectly understandable to despise them, whatever member of the TL community they may be.
