When I logged back in, I started coming back to Saranen. I jump into EWOK, and see a cane on a gate. We have 4 rifters, dram claw jag, and they have stabber, rifter, 2 thrashers, 2 bombers, kitsune and a drake on the gate, with bubbles. Aeth tells me to jump in and warp to him, and then we can warp to the gate. I land in the bubble. (This is the 2nd time in 2 days Aeth has tried to get me killed). The kitsune instantly jams me, and they all primary me. Our fleet warps to the gate, and we tear them apart. At the end, its just a drake who is super tanky (and has rockets). A vagabond jumps in just as he is breaking, so we turn our attention to him. Having ship spun for long enough, I decide that I was going to spend the rest of the night doing non-related EVE activities, having declined Aeth and Chris's generous offer to go on a frig roam. This might possibly have to do with me having no actual frigate hulls in Saranen or general laziness, I don't know which. At some point, I hear that the motley gang has engaged a similarly sized group, and was currently assaulting the formidable tank of a drake. Having ship spun my special budget Rupture (no rigs? no problem) long enough I decide to make the arduous trek of 2 jumps to join in. In the meantime, the forces of good discover that it is no ordinary Drake. Indeed, this one shoots rockets. This uniquely fit battlecruiser slays our newbie Zenith before I can arrive on the scene. Having jumped in, and ascertained that this Drake doesn't have scram / web, I load EMP and begin brawling him down. A hero Vagabond jumps in to save his Clusterfuckian ally, perhaps a questionable decision, given that the entire fleet converges and pretty much instantly scrams him. I bring the mad deepz of the budget rupture to bear on the Vaga through amazing feats of piloting (read: hit approach. hit approach again. F1), and he drops quickly. In addition, a Manticore that's been sporadically bombing our group sticks around a little too long, and I manage to long point him npnp, and he is torn to shreds by the frigates. gf Battle report: http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=11470163 ** That's enough internet spaceship action I have had for a day, I think, so I prepare to afk again, while listening to the Aeth/Happyft FC duo deciding to engage a medium battlecruiser group (4-5) + Vagabond + tackle + cruisers with a Vaga of our own + assorted t1/t2 frigs. Happy FT, true to form, immediately dies. They manage to drop the enemy Vagabond, but as the battle drags on and our Rifters start dying, it becomes clear that heavier fire support is needed. I decide to join halfway through the battle, again, but this time in a nanodrake. I ask whether I'll be able to burn off gate, and Sergeant assures me I can. I jump in and promptly spawn 11km off a Thrasher. I cross my fingers and hope he doesn't have a scram. I accelerate up to 2 km/s, and quickly get pointed by three ships, but luckily the dreaded "external factors" message doesn't cross my screen. Despite not getting scrammed, the battlecruisers on grid do a surprisingly decent amount of damage and I drop to 40%~ shields in the 10-ish seconds it takes for me to cruise out of long point range, but the incoming damage drops off quickly as I gain distance on their fleet. Michael Harari in his dual rep brawling Myrmidon jumps in but we don't really have enough dps to kill off the battlecruisers. So Michael gets back to the gate and jumps out into the relative safety of 93PI (or so we think). With some additional missile dps and some manly tackle piloting by Aeth (Dramiel OP~), we manage to drop the enemy Maller and Stabber. In the meantime, Michael Harari gets black ops dropped by our risk-averse neighbors QuietDOTStorm, who, while not losing remarkably ineffective space pinatas, carry out elite pvp in the form of bringing out falcons for single ships. Perhaps sensing that a longer engagement would be futile, they deaggress and jump out. I signed up for the trial and installed the client, and as far as I can tell everything is working fine, until I try to create a character. Right after I set the appearance and hit 'Finalize', the game waits a few seconds and then restarts itself, wiping whatever character I just made. When I log in again it prompts me to create a new character. Anyone encounter this before, or know how to fix it? | ||
