Edit: The things that got me excited were: corp bookmarks and a buff to exploration sites Standardization of POS fuel (all of them turned into fuel pellets). I don't see myself staying away from this game for much longer | ||

An incursion pops up in the area, and we get sight of a romulan fleet. Maybe they're a shitty incursion fleet (no points, no proper fits etc.) so we'll go attack them with 3 drakes and 2 rifters even though they have ~10 scimis and 40-50 ships overall. No problem, standard Hatchery procedure. We "catch" this one Drake lagging behind as they're all warping away from a gate (actually it caught itself by aggressing as we jumped in). It's pirate on my overview so I immediately close distance and scram without so much as a thought. Normally I would close distance and wait for a suicide scram order (in the proximity of a gate or station, you will be attacked by NPC guns if you aggress on a neutral target) so I considered this a fortunate occurrence in my favor. Immediately after scramming the Drake, I instinctively switch to my drones overview to lock up any nearby drones. The problem is: they don't show up as red (i.e. they show up as neutral). I figure it's a bug (I've seen it happen before when switching overview tabs, you sometimes lose pirate/neutral info until switch out and back) and fire away only to get a big nasty GCC warning and have the gate guns firing on me. Well derp on my part. I should have noticed that the drones were just sitting there on the field and not fired on them. I didn't respond fast enough to get away from the Drake's point range and ended up popping on the gate. So Rifter down. No big deal, I'm 5 jumps from Saranen, right? 5 jumps in a pod is like no time at all. I head on my way to reship. Meanwhile, romulans are getting mad and shit is happening - and I want in on it! I've got worthless BC pilots to save, after all. Suddenly, a few jumps in TRAFFIC CONTROL WARNING Apparently the server is having a hard time keeping up with all 2 people in local and has put a 5 MINUTE QUEUE (wtf) on jumps out of the system. Nice... Meanwhile all kinds of shit is happening and our hapless BC pilots are buzzing around helplessly without their hero rifters there to save them. By the time I get back to Sara and reship, my GCC is under 2min so I decide to wait it out (I'll be useless, after all, if we end up fighting on a gate or a station). I finally get back in the fleet as we're forming up for an engagement. A little back and forth goes on and a Blackbird goes down (with 10 scimis on the field roflwhat) and the romulans end up moving elsewhere. As we are about to move nearer the enemy for the second engagement POWER TURNS OFF -___________- Know this, universal forces: I will have my revenge! | ||

I'm interested in joining you guys to learn about PvP and make grown men cry because they lost to their own silly mistakes. I've been playing EVE for a while, but I'm just a massive carebear (until now!). I take it you guys roam at like, midnight EST-ish? | ||
