Yea they did that for Christmas for 5 bucks.
That's when Jayme was born. She's turning into quite the zealot beast. Pulse 5 HAC 5. ARMOR TIME.

On a related note - anyone piloted Amarr Battleships for PvE/PvP? I'm on my way to getting one, but I have some queries. I know the Armageddon is the cheapest and most available so obviously I'll end up getting one to start off piloting battleships, although it's apparently extremely skill-intensive in that you need a ton of skills to make it effective. But what about the Apocalypse and the Abaddon? The Abaddon looks like the clear winner of the three to me with a power grid of 21500, but I don't know shit about shit, which is where you come in. Any information about the potential roles of the three battleships in PvP or a reason to pick an Apocalypse over an Abaddon or even just a link to pertinent info is appreciated a lot. Thanks!
On a related note, I'm planning to spec into Caldari Battleships as well at a later date.. Is the Raven still the "King of PvE"?

Me and Diggity just picked this up to try out for a month. Hope to fly with ya'll!

It's channel SCBW as far as I'm aware.

@H
I wouldn't say any of the three are more "skill-intenstive" than the rest aside from your racial bs skill (which you will want to get to 4 at the minimum if you're serious about flying them anyways). The skills that you need don't change necessarily ship to ship, but more fit to fit (e.g. range, repping or non, fitting tachs etc.). You're going to need at least 13m sp (assuming you didn't waste any sp on silly shit or deviate into other areas on the way) including support to fly a pve or rrbs amarr bs semi-respectably. Obviously you don't need to wait until your racial bs is V'd to hop in one, but unless your cap support and gunnery skills are good, you'd be better off flying something else in the meantime.
As far as PVE goes, the abaddon is what you're going to want to fly. It hits hard and tanks hard. Obviously, it's not going to be as versatile as a Raven because you can't adjust your damage type to rats. If you're going to use the same toon to rat/mission as well as pvp, though, I'd forget completely about Caldari BS as they're almost entirely useless for pvp (with the notable exceptions requiring you to train relatively heavily into side skill paths with very few useful skills on the way).
As far as pvp, it really depends on what kind of gang you're running in. The main consideration regardless of what kind of fleet you're flying in, however, is capacitor. The Apoc is by far the easiest to keep cap stable or close to it. In terms of the general setups you'd be asked to fly in PVP, you can basically break it down into nano (shield tanking) bs, close range rrbs, 100k rrbs, and sniper bs. None of the Amarr bs are really suitable for nano'ing so we'll forget about that. For close range rrbs, the geddon is a solid, cheap choice. You can use an Abaddon, but it's probably going to cost you about three times as much. Aim to fit something like
Tanky Trimarked RRBS Geddon
7x Mega Pulse II's Repper
MWD Sebo Cap Booster
DCU 3x plates Adaptive Nano EANM 2x Heat Sinks
As far as 100k rrbs and sniper bs go, the Apoc is, imo, the best ship in the game. Shoot for something like this for asnipe Apoc:
8x Tachyon Beam II's
Cap Recharger MWD 2x sebos
DCU 2x plates 2x RCUs Heat Sink Adaptive Plating
EDIT: Those are fits to aim for long term. Without AWU 5 and perfect support skills, you'll need to tweak. Kizu is good with that.

If I buy the Steam sale, do I have to make a new account? Or if I buy it, do I lose the remaining days on my 21 day trial? It says "Product keys will not work with existing EVE Online accounts."
EDIT: I went through with it anyway. If anyone's curious, it adds to the time you already have! Looks like I'm an EVE player now... lol.

I have maybe 6 billion on my really old account. Anyone know how much that is worth in $$ these days?
|
Wouldn't know. Liquid inc. doesn't have anything to do with any kind of RMT, and it would be best to keep it out of the thread, tbh.

You can certainly play for free mind, just buy PLEXoff the market.
Theres certainly a way of Legally selling Game Time Codes which convert to plex, fan sites like Battle Clinic do it all the time. Not really sure how that works tbh, but its legit

removed this post, nevermind, damnit!

Well thanks to Steam, I am officially an EVE subscriber. Training skills like a boss until I can join the TL corp.
Also, I'm kinda banking on being able to afford a PLEX by the time my month is over (because 1.99 to sustain an entire P2P MMO is just awesome). Any recommendations on where to start/what direction to go in terms of making (enough) money? I'm aiming to do PvP in the long run, so preferably not something like mining/manufacturing. My guess is that my best bet would be learning how to play the market in some way shape or form, but I'm not sure how to learn how to do that. Can anyone point a noob in the right direction?

Alright, you guys made the game look really good, and I've been really bored with no starcraft II Downloading now, I'll see you guys in game

Resubbed, rerolling with some newbie friends. Still haven't figured out what I want to do this time around. It's been about a year since I played and I didn't get too far. (Had just got my first cruiser and did some missions.) Any particular paths Amarr is strong with PvPwise? Still training learning stuff for the meantime.
