What I love most so far are nano BC/HAC gangs and I'm trying to get into sniping HAC gangs atm. For those of you guys who have no idea what I'm talking about I'll try to break it down. Just like in RL an effective fleet has to work around some kind of theme while maintaining flexibility. If you have a fast moving gang in heavy assault cruisers (HACs) and then add 3-4 slow moving and heavily tanked battleships (BSs)... you lose the speedadvantage HACs have and you lose the advantage BSs have in larger numbers in terms of tanks. The idea behind nano-gangs is simple: Be fast moving, deal out high damage, be closerange. This type of gang is awesome to roam someones backdoor because you can hit many different regions rather quickly and can get in and out without having to fear heavy resistance. You can't fight it? Who the fuck cares, it can't catch you! 30 hostile BSs are reported? NP, let's make 3 jumps more and move around them. Someone tries to run / hide / snipe you? You chase down, get in close, rape face. Also in fleetfights with these types of gangs you usually kill enemy tackle (guys who keep you from warping out) asap and just start warping out/back in which keeps friendly numbers up. We'll try frapsing stuff like that soon, I guess, had some epic fights lately. Sniping HAC gangs follow a different but still similar concept. They are also fast moving but have much less of a tank. If you get close to them they die like paperplanes. Once they are out of your range they start raping face. While a normal ship in a hac/bc gang like discribed above has like 5-25km range a sniping hac gang has more like 30-120km range. A sniping gang usually drops bubbles on enemies (which prevent them from warping), burns out of the bubbles and starts sniping. While their dps (damage per second) is pretty low they make it up by numbers and alpha-strike. Also while they keep the damage on the enemy from their ranges they can just keep warping out and back if they for whatever random reason take damage. Their enemies can't do that ![]() Or to show how Pandemic Legion does it: http://www.vimeo.com/5038862 ... They pretty much perfected that style to perfection and show how it's done. K SO BACK ON TOPIC. I lead out a gang of 40ish BCs/HACs/Logistics and we're on our way to raid a local pocket where Ethereal Dawn (ED), Red Alliance (RA) and Blade. Alliance live. ... Scout reports some activity and a small camp while I make the fleet hold one jump out. I start the usual deal of sending a few guys to bait and to get a fight going. It worked way better than expected and from the sounds of the baitcrew hostiles had expected us and assembled a small fleet. After like 10+ hostiles are reported on the field I bring in the reinforcements from the mainfleet and the magic sentence "CARRIER ON GATE" comes over on vent. For those who do not know: capital ships like carriers can't use stargates like normal ships can. Which means they pretty much can't get out on their own when tackled in a spot like this. We point the carrier, start killing their support while I start to get friendly capitals ready to go in our intel channels. We get the cyno ready and for some random major failsauce reason (someone asked for help against some snipers and made too many people warp to him the hostile carrier manages to get clear. 20 seconds later they warp in a second carrier (!!?!) have 10+ capitals undocked at station, and friendly cyno is about to go up. Sidestory: One of our guys who had to warp off reports a tackled T3 cruiser (expensive toys, cost as much as a carrier) in an asteroid belt. I send some support over there to finish the poor guy off while I hand the fleet to a different FC for coordinating our capitals. We jump in our caps, kill the carrier, get a Pandemic Legion & Morsus Mihi fleet reported 2 jumps out, get the carriers safe, start roaming back home. Hostiles try to titan bridge on top of us, we kill some of their snipers and gtfo. Win! http://www.gentlemen-in-space.com/killboard/?a=kill_related&kll_id=14059

Plus the "Tengu tackled belt 1, 7 was the randomest shit ever" Oh and our friendly cyno was lit by an Eos that went to a neighboring system to actually buy a cyno. FC is going: "where's the cyno guy?!?" - "I'm undocking in my eos now" Also there was a quite large bs fight down in Wicked creek on sunday. I joined a CoW op with the idea to shot some frigates while the bs's fight. We're sitting on a gate with intel that a 70 man bs fleet is coming our way. We had about 75bs and 15 smaller crap(me included). They jump into us and the fight starts. I've never experianced lag like this. I had a rifter locked and my guns we're on buy I wasn't shooting. Two minutes later my ui updates I've fired 2 rounds and the rifter is long dead. Then a blue blob lands on the edge of our bubble and I look at local. There's over 500 people in system. I still can't do shit because of lag. Next thing I know there are drones on me and I'm taking damage which forces me to jump gate and I see 90 people in local in the next system. I log off on the gate but I'm convinced that I'm a dead man. Logged in 30mins later to find myself alive and kicking, but too scared to burn back home because there are atleast 5 hostile fleets in the area. Got home safe 2 hours later. Having played WoW for over 2 years, EVE keeps blowing my mind simply because it's like nothing I've ever experianced before. While I consider empire space boring, being part of TL has enabled me to see a part of eve's true awesomeness.

And don't be a liar, everybody complains about blobs/hotdrops conducted by everybody else. Not excluding PL from that list either.

Since we managed to adjust to PL loldrops they are quite funny. "Oh. a PL raven. LOLOLOL. Lets make him jump into us, align and overheat. whoooops, cyno. whoops 10 carriers, who could have foreseen that? Whooops dead cynoraven. RIP." Once you start to adjust to it and people stop being dipshits and listen to "Don't get within 10-15km of him" it starts getting funny. tbh PL is the alliance I have the most respect for in eve. Who else can manage sniping hacs that well and also cause major lols by hotdropping you cause they can 5x within 2h?

I think EVE is a really cool game and I'd really like to play more but I won't because mmo games are just way too bad for the rest of your life and I can't afford that right now. T_T Maybe when I'm 60. ~~~

In other news, I played EVE for the first time in several weeks and participated in a failed hotdrop when a cyno pilot for a doomsday attempt forgot to use command chat on TS while calling for the titans to jump in. 30 dreadnoughts proceeded to lemming in along with the titans, ending the op in blueballs for everyone except the titan pilots that got to push the DD button.

anyway, i didnt mean individuals would deagress but that fc would call for deagress as soon as he saw the odds stacked against him, but w/e.

I'm pretty sure somewhere in their ~400B monthly income they can afford to reimburse their members at least partly.
