If you put 2 tracking disruptors with falloff scripts with turret destab lvl 4, you reduce his optimal to 675m + 6188m falloff, essentially negating ~80% of his dps at 10km range (still within overheated long-point range). I guess in terms of ewar against a vagabond, an overheated minnie jammer achieves exactly the same effect, but if you don't have a bb pilot and are say, running a low-skill point low-sec roam with a tackle caracal, dps rupture, and 2 rifters... maybe it wouldn't be bad idea to fit 2 tracking disruptors somewhere in there? Nevermind again, even with 2 tracking enhancers, if you put a third tracking disruptor you take down his chance to hit to 10% at 10km out. So...er...still viable? Hey guys I have a great idea, lets use a mid slot on our shield nanogang stuff for more ewar. Didn't want that invul anyway. Edit: Wait, do you guys even fit invuls on your canes?

Then somehow a blackbird died. I'm unclear on the details because the first I heard of the combat was from the WT high fiving but I eventually got something out of the pilot. He decided to get in a bb and go to the system where they all were and join my fleet (fucking finder). That act in itself isn't that bad. But then rather than joining the rest of our fleet (we were camping them and had the superior force) he docked up for some reason. As he undocked a hurricane warped to the station. Being the solo support ship with no real combat capacity he did the only thing he could do. Not redock (thus making himself entirely safe). Not report the situation and await orders (to redock!) but to try and jam the guy. Now, a blackbird doesn't have a warp disruptor. It can't keep a hurricane from warping out. There is no way it can win this fight. All it can do is jam him some of the time so it can't fire. Given the blackbird was by itself it was therefore only capable of making itself slightly safer. Despite being on a station at 0 (and therefore entirely safe unless he aggressed) he decided to attack and jam the hurricane. The hurricane promptly killed him and warped off, presuming a rapid response that wasn't coming. It was a new guy so whatever, these things happen. But even so, really, really bad logic from them. Somehow in a position where he can inflict absolutely no harm by attacking but is entirely safe if he chooses not to attack he decided to attack.

Generally, I was retarded, and make no attempt to hide that. Edit; As for joining in on the OP without asking; In retrospect you're right and I should have either a) Asked if you needed me, or b) Asked if a BB (Albeit with a retarded pilot) would be useful.

So...er...still viable? fitting random jammers would probably work better. Disruptors are alot of slots for not alot of effect. Also, jammers work even when they can control range. Disruptors don't work if they can just burn closer. Reading all this stuff is so much fun =X Kinda wish I didn't park myself in one of the nullsec alliances and spend all my time avoiding bad FCs and pointless CTAs.

Today he released his yearlong writeup(quite long) of what happened in eve and as far as territorial shits go 2010 was the biggest to date. What is surprising is that even with the terrible dominion sov changes and horrendus lag issues, eve has seen nothing but fighting for more than a year. Although stagnation is on the horizon(if IT fail cascades and goons take delve again) I'm sure someone will welp a supercap fleet or post pictures of their fc naked. Either way I'm hoping PL will keep being awesome and not lose fleets to yaay anymore(srsly) Not sure if I should post this in the metagaming thread but I feel this thread is more active. P.S. Best log in ever ![]()

@bn' i quite disagree. it would have been a good year if any of the sov changes took place due to actual fighting. instead it all happened due to failcascades (and not paying sov bills lol) with little to no fighting involved.

It is true that delve was lost due to stupidity and all but in fact most(if not all) sov changes occur because of failcascades. I don't think I've ever seen an instance where a large alliance would slug it out with another large alliance for each and every system they own. Sooner or later the defending leadership hypes up their players to really defend 1 system and if it succeds they regain the momentum and log in more or they fail and failcascade/start evac. Yes most of the attacked alliances were rotten from the core, but aside from droneland russians, tenacity is something that isn't very common among eve players.

Haha, epic writeup. Gotta <3 EvE. Though, I am somewhat happy that we don't have to deal with that kind of politics. =) edit: after looking at our killboard, I have deducted, that vov hates industrials.
