Anyway, just as we were leaving the WTs kinda formed up so we turned around and refitted and went to see them. We got eyes on them for a while beforehand and saw they were working with 4 neutral remote reps and neutral probing. Was a bit shit to have them watching our every move with an alt but we still got a fight going. We knew from the outset we weren't gonna kill shit cause of their neutral RR and I had a discussion with Cael about it. He was of the opinion we couldn't win and I was of the opinion it was good practice and we shouldn't really lose either. The engagement started pretty sloppily but that's pretty inevitable tbh, no plan survives its execution. We pointed a bhaalgorn in space but with the raven, domi, phoon, pest etc there and all their RR we couldn't break their tank. What we could do is execute a pretty smooth nano. Links were somewhat up (I was fucking with them as we fought) and we got into a decent formation with overlapping support. They were only able to kill budget fit cruisers so we're still considerably up on the war. Was good.

I just joined this afternoon, I went on the "thornton is back" celebration roam around 12 eve time. Since I could not even fly a rifter. I showed up in a random fit burst. After some flying around and me trying to keep up with all the information on what was going on in chat, ts3 and my overview, our scouts found some juicy targets, who were hanging around a station. After we properly engaged, local spicked to a whooping 74 and we got our asses handed to us by a Nidhoggur. My burst died to a bomb. My pod did escape though. =) We then went to refit at rens and then tried to engage our wts, which were in some typhoons and a bhaalgorn. They were assisted bei 3 guardians and 1 other remote armor repair mercenaries. We did get them to engage us, warped to the sun and startet a brawl there. We could not quite break that massive amount of rr, but apparently our positioning was quite good. At a later stage of the fight the bhaalgorn instatpopped the slasher I was in, but again I was able to warp my pod out. While it was actually a little bit exhausting and sometimes confusing, I had a blast and will continue to lose ships for the hatchery. Also sry for all the newbiness and thanks for your patience. =) edit: kwark also beat me to it, and has a way more accurate description on what was going on.

We warped at the sun at 50, with the bhaal sitting at 0. Our alignpoint was the frarn gate which was at 45° to the baalghron, with the other bs landin on it at 0. So were burning 20km through them and lost all our cruisers because of this. Proof: Note the wrecks being really close to the battleships, and not behind our bcs. http://www.annih.de/ul/warri/2011.01.22.01.34.22.jpg At that point we had the phoon in half armor being 50km away from their battleships and having the logistics jammed until the bbs died beacuse of that positioning. Plus i couldnt attack the Phoon because of concordokken, fuck that shit.

Ive kind of been throwing an Idea for a video to see Gamers interest (namely eve players), in a video series talking about the basics of small gang eve PvP and just fitting/isk making in general while still keeping it interesting (which I think the challenge will be) and Hera agreed to help with an interview/some of his own input to give the video some validity, but I know NOTHING about video editing/encoding but I own a terrabyte (sp) secondary HDD and a pretty good gaming rig to record. Was thinking about starting with maybe hull classes (frigs/cruisers/bcs) in eve and then fittings in eve and the impact they have on PvP engagements and their roles. The main challenge I see with doing this as far as entertainment goes is #1 My voice I think its terrible and I would hate to listen to anything commented by me and #2 how to keep it entertaining while still remaining informative, since the main goals of this series is kind of a doube edged sword Entertainment/Information Anyways:Would anyone be interested in helping, whether it be video sugguestions, actual editing etc. Even noobs in the hatchery who dont know how to edit could help by sugguesting videos. Just note that this isnt a committment and Im namely looking to make a first VOD for now just to see the difficulties involved/interest among the community. And if it works out I may be able to find another editor from the Eve community. Poll: First Video Empire vs Lowsec vs Nullsec General rules of engagement (6) Hull class/Their roles (0) Fitting and how to do it (0) Finding fights in Eve (0) Other (if you vote for this plz sugguest something you think would be better) (0) 6 total votes Your vote: First Video (Vote): Hull class/Their roles Please keep in mind Im rather bad at Pvp and im not going to be making uneducated statements on these videos/make the starcraft communitty look like a bunch of eftwarrioring elitist neckbeards, and these videos will just be guidelines with interviews/ideas from people that are good at what they do, whether it be Contract PvP/ Hauling/Small Gang warfare/Scouting/Ewar. Starting With Hera drakthorn. Let me know what you think, something for me to do other than stationspin! And hopefully get the hatchery some positive attention

Video about ship-types, what their role is, what you should do when you fly these, and a basic fitting guide. This can be rather short, just go over the basic stuff, so beginners atleast won't have basic t1 fits with shield extenders, armor plates, 2 afterburners and 3 warp stabs. You could make some footage here and there demonstrating the difference in locking time between a ship with no war stabs, and one with 3. Show the difference between a warp scrambler & a warp disruptor, and so on. 2) Video about the rules of engagement as introduction, the differences between HS/LS/0.0 Then go on to basic stuff in pvp, setting up a decent overview, what you should keep in mind, how to be a tackler, and basic guidelines of how you should act when you fly in a small gang. Talk a bit about how you should get started in pvp, setting goals for yourselfs in terms of ships, etc 3) Solo-pvp Talk about solo-pvp, how you should approach it, when you should/could start doing it. Things to keep in mind when you are doing it, and how to find targets. But more importantly: In this video go into details of how to scout, how to keep yourself safe. -Give people tips on how to use the map to see where they should and shouldn't go -Talk about setting up bookmarks/safespots in the system they go trough -learn them how to avoid gatecamps, how to get away from them, and what to do when they do land in them (first rule: don't panic) -Teach them how to use the D-scan, seriously this is so important -teach people how to find targets, and coupled with a basic introductory (you talked about ship-types and what they do in that earlier video) that you gave earlier, and use that to show them what you can and can't engage, and how they should approach fights, and how to use earlier things (when you have spotted a gang 2 jumps ago, and you land on an interceptor, there should be alarmbell going off that you either should kill the thing really fast before his backup arrives, or just not engage) And in the end, when you told all this, teach them how to use that in knowledge in gangs to become a good scout (and give basic overviews of how to give information of what's happening or what you are seeing to your FC). That is how I would do approximatly, depending on how into detail you want to go you might want to split it up. The basic ship-types/fitting movie would be good start, since if you wouldn't continue doing it, it would be good thing on it's own. Anyway, these were just some basic idea's/points.

Once we got in formation we were pretty solid.
