Reading a lot about Brave being shit lately (disclaimer: I'm a Brave member) and find it a little shady that CFC just formed a reddit-based newbie corp. I'm not sure on themettani.com's ties to the CFC though. I just know that Mittani is the guy that told people to make someone kill himself but thats it.
I for one am probably the typical Brave member and I couldn't care less whether or not some people are leaving, but I'm not sure whether I'm just ignorant to the problems or witnessing a propaganda war.
It's full of lies but possibly less so than en24 or even reddit. If you apply a bit of critical thinking and speak to people involved you can use it as a starting point to find out something approximating what happened.
I see, well to be fair it probably doesn't make a difference anyway. I grew fond of the idea of Brave and am probably sticking to it until it all blows up or I want to try something else!
when i said null players really didn't have any idea how to fly besides "approach/orbit" anchor, I actually thought I was at least slightly exaggerating

once you're beyond small gang stuff its so much about the FC that other factors really pale into insignificance.

You're forgetting one other thing. Having a majority of the fleet's members listening to what the FC says. You can have the best FC in the world, but if the fleet is a bunch of kill-whoring, loot-scooping, premature-jumping morons...
yeah, sorry, I saw the BR for that fight already and didn't watch till the significant segment. That said, FC could have called for align & warp if you start taking damage, logi commander could have called reps not holding.
as to people not listening to the FC:
good FC > has success > attracts good/useful ancillary players [scouts, OGBs, spies, logi command, technical analysts etc etc]. these make is easier for FC to do well so > more, better, success. players like success, it motivates them to do better, and the environment around them has clear role models. peer pressure to conform normalises the majority people who don't listen/are slow etc
there is little difference in base skill between the bulk of fleet members in GSF/NC/any large FW group/large lowsec-npc nul group/large high group (if such a thing exists)
and the process is reversible, you take a player used to flying in well run larger fleets, put them in BNI/CFC etc, 6 months they're likely to be as bad as the rest.
obviously this isn't some kind of universal rule, there are exceptions
