What kind of FW farming?
Plexing or running missions?
For missions you want to skill into a SB for the faction you want to mission for.
If plexing, you can pick any number of ships. Farmers usually go with Frigates, but the recent changes are making farming a bit tougher on them.
|
I never did any FW missions so I don't know anything about it. I meant to ask about the plex runs. Any particular frigate fit that's good to start with?
|
Any pvp fit for any ship style that you want to fly.
I have come across a lot of Slicers. They seem to be popular.
Make sure you have enough DPS to kill the rats that now spawn.

The Merlin! + Show Spoiler [ALittleBoy] +The standard merlin that we currently use in Vlillirier. While it tanks a little less since no damage control unit, it does a facemelting 262 DPS with heated Void. And that DPS will mostly apply when something lands on you at zero and you instantly lock scram web it. Avoid afterburner+double web kiting ships, cause your Null doesn't do much.

For running level 1-3 missions, you can get by with any agile kiting ship. For level 4 missions you would use a stealth bomber such as the Purifier.
edit:
I also see a lot of Hookbills, Comets, Slicers, and Tristans, which are all very versatile ships for FW purposes.

I'm thinking about subbing again. I quit because I was playing solo and got bored playing alone, so if I rejoin would anyone be willing to let a noob tag along for some pvp? :D If people are active that wouldnt mind me tagging along to do stuff that would be cool.

Update: KwarK/Hatchery has a nullsec thing going on in Stain that you're welcome to join. PM him on TL for details or in game, usually on the character X ATM092.

Finally I begin to understand what everyone was talking about. I plan to start a new character but I don't know which faction I should chose(Currently Caldari) and is it possible for me to join you(fellow Tlers) or should I wait for months to become stronger etc.. is there a place for complete noobs?

Choose whatever race you like. You get a very (very!) short head start on that race's ships but there's no reason to worry about it. Once you're in the game you can train anything you like.

Race doesn't matter, the only benefit one race has over another is roughly 7 hours of training in their racial Frigate skill (you being with 3 levels of racial frigate which takes ~7 hours to train). You can pick whichever faction you find most aesthetically pleasing or like the lore of the best, it literally doesn't matter.
+ Show Spoiler +Interesting piece of history about what choosing specific factions/bloodlines used to do before CCP changed it.
You don't need to wait to join. This is the fit that Kwark recommended a few pages back for newb's to use as tackle.

Google "EVEMon". When you plug that fit in, it takes 20 hours to train the skills necessary to fly that ship with that fit. Because of ship rebalancing changes that happened like 6 months ago the Merlin doesn't require Caldari Frig IV anymore, you can sit in the Merlin with Caldari Frig I. You can also use those guns with Small Hybrid Turret I. Both of them combined take like an extra half hour to train.

Well I just (re)started too Laserist so me and oyu can join up and be new together! I am going to try and join up with everyone and learn some pvp if they will have me =]
|
@Omigawa Thanks for the info, give me some time to digest and understand it. I am a complete fresh starter so I think I need some time to train required skills to contribute. I am following any advice given in this topic. So Kwark uses newbies as baits

That would be awesome. I am currently in Caldari starting location and will do some initial training missions while training basic skills. I don't even know how to find people. Help me pls

Yes and no, the old Merlin fits didn't have guns

Apply to the corporation The Hatchery in game, once accepted join Supply Depot chat channel. PM Kwark on the forums or message X ATM092 in game. Run the first batch of missions to get money to buy the skills I listed. Train them and then head down to the staging system (ask in game I'm not sure where it is). Join the TL teamspeak and find the Eve channel. There are plenty of people to ask for help/advice in game or in teamspeak.

I think we(newb) are very expendable , you know

I played a bit before so I have 6.8mill skillpoints atm, so i can fly some basic fits, started back researching down the list on the first page. For now I am going to get some sleep but I will be on later today and be on for quite awhile, will join ts then and see which corp I should join if any (alrdy in shield batt chat). I have no idea how space outside of the 4 factions space works, should i try to bring a bunch of stuff with me to our staging area or is it fine to just bring me and my tackle merlin? :S Anywho, see you guys later.
edit: I am so terrible, lost my drake to npcs while doing level3 security missions -_____-. such bad.

This Merlin has been my favourite fit over the last few months. I have lost a lot of these Merlins! Also, I have made about 500k LP by sitting on the button at 0km, waiting for a target, in Amarr while its at T1.
Nowadays, you can run Novices with this fit. Anything bigger and you won't be able to kill the npc that spawns to defend.

It's amazing how many of those names I've run across while playing Eve. And a few I've killed.
