I've actually been playing Eve off and on since 2004, but my main (and for the most part only) character is highly industrial/exploration focused and I've never done any real pvp. I'm training up an alt for it now, and in the meantime I'd like to be able to run the lower end FW plexes for customs office blueprints. I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to fitting frigates in a pvp environment. I was hoping to get some advice on it. I'll go into some detail as to what I (expect to) need to be successful with these sort of ninja plexing endeavors. My character is trained for only Amarr ships currently, and can fit small t2 lasers but pretty much no other weapons. Right now I'm looking at t1 frigates, as unless I'm mistaken they are the only ones that can do novice plexes. It needs enough damage to kill the NPC defender, but otherwise is entirely defensive in nature. Ideally, it would have a cloak fitted for maximum cowardice/observation of habits. At a glance, it seems the Crucifier might be a reasonable choice due to its high cpu and defensive qualities in terms of tracking. I'm not sure if it can create the dps it needs. The Executioner might work as well, though I am finding it hard to fit a cloak on that one. Yes, I do know you can't cap a plex while cloaked. Any advice is welcome, thanks! | ||

Fit a weapon. Literally any weapon works. Fit some other things, including a prop mod. Go do novice/small plexes. Guide done. | ||

I've got 33 million SP on my pvp character right now, which I trained from the start, and it's still relatively shitty. It'll take about 18 more months to get to a decent level..... I mean, I could theoretically just have maxed out support skills and teched for a single type of ship in this period of time, and have a very good pilot for a single type of ship, but where's the fun in that? Buy something that's got quite a bit of PvP related SP already. Even if it's not perfect, which it won't be, it will be a huge head start. And if you've been playing since 04 and can't put up 10 billion or so for a good head start, you've been doing something wrong all this time. | ||
