Minmatar ships are very good in general, and more specifically really good in nano-gangs. As for the probing and scouting deal, a lot of people in The Hatchery have dedicated probing/covops alts that they use to probe/scout, and that isn't something someone would normally train on their main account. If you are interested in smaller ships there are a lot of frigates that you can do solo PvP in, there are several members of The Hatchery that do a lot of solo PvP very successfully. For fleets that we fly Rifters are always welcome as fast tackle.

Today I got my black frog and started assembling my ships. Then I accidentally destroyed a t2 ancillary current router so I had to buy a new one. Then I accidentally placed that new t2 router on my cov ops so I had to destroy that as well.
Elite eve player right here.

Too drunk today though... No such thing as too drunk for spaceships. Hop on teamspeak and revel with your fellow Hatchery Alcoholics, including but not limited to, Jed, Chessur, and, uh, I'm sure I'm forgetting someone else *hic.* We need more goofiness on our comms!
Currently working on setting up TS. There've been problems with their 64-bit Linux client (although it might be my headset too that's acting up).

If you're playing on Linux....patch days will be patch hell.

Wait.. you mean they are NOT like that for the normal client anymore?
I still remember the days of "Dude... put in skills for AT LEAST a week during patchday.." =D

Nah. Windows/Mac patch days are now only 2 day queues. But they dropped Linux support so they don't care if they break it for a month.

Winehq states that after you install visual c++ runtime versions 2005, 2008 and 2010 (which I did) automatic patching of EVE works just fine. I did my research Worst case scenario: I can always just download offline installer for newest version which takes like 10-20 minutes.
Right now my other problem is that TS doesn't work with EVE. I managed to partially solve it, I now have sound in TS or EVE, can't have both at the same time atm but I'm working on it (I can still play music with any of them running without quirks so it must be one of the two).

EVE has built in voice chat so you may have to disable that to prevent conflicts?

I did. TS works fine but then I get absolutely no sounds coming out of EVE whatsoever. I'll keep digging to find possible solutions. It's all temporary though, I'll be moving IRL soon so I can finally set up my dual boot desktop for work and gaming. Right now my appartment doesn't offer me a lot of choice in terms of space that I could use for computer that wouldn't also be easily accessible for my 2 years old son...

WHO CARES NO SOUND IN SPACE
Also, disable camera shake, ship explosions, and engine trails.

I think my computer agrees with that. One day a few months ago the sound in EVE just dissapeared for no apparent reason. Can't get it back, probably some soundcard issue that I can't bother to try and fix.

EVE: Realistic mode
edit:
I couldn't play like that...I am one of the few people (I'm guessing) that loves to hear the guns firing haha...most of them anyways, I fly probably 80% Minmatar and I do get annoyed with the Autocannons going epwpewpepwepwpewpep......epwpewpepwepwpew.
However minmatar artillery...do love it.

nah, i figured the random chances of running across some people with long points capable of covering both sides of the gate were too high
or even worse, two guys in longpoint inties
I've randomly caught a GCC'ed tornado in half structure on a gate before, you never know when your luck will run out
