Seriously. Steam holiday sale means vanilla Civ 4 is only $15, and with both expansions, its only $25.

![]() Game will open Tuesday 02:00 KST (I hate converting timezones so we'll go by TL time) and the game will start Wednesday 02:00 KST. We'll be using pitboss, so don't worry about being available at a certain time, just make sure you're available sometime in those 24 hours to log in. It seems like the host has to decide the civilizations before launching the game, so to make this easier everyone will play random. To make the game go a little faster we can try to organize times where all of us would be available for a few hours to blaze by 50 or so turns. As for how the world will be set up... Game Overview Players: 16 + Host Venue: Hamachi LAN Turn Timer: 18 Hours Map & Map Size: Continents, Huge Difficulty: Noble Climate: Temperate Sea Level: Medium Speed: Normal Options Barbarians No Vassal States Technology Brokering Technology Trading No Permanent Alliances Tribal Villages Remember, this isn't final. I'm just posting this here to gauge what should be changed/what I'm missing. So feel free to input any ideas or suggestions. Edit: I pretty much copied this template off the civfanatics forum. So for now I guess I'll take zulu's suggestion of just leaving everything on default.

Also, since my computer and internet connection can be a bit iffy sometime, I may end up getting disconnected a few times over the course of the game. So I'd like to test out how easy it is to load back up and start back wherever we left off. If I disconnect we may lose just 1 turn at most (if even that) since I'll make sure to at least save after all of my turns. Edit: oh yeah, and I'm running off the latest patch 3.17 if it makes any difference. Edit2: since I'm just testing I'll let anyone join. Hamachi server: TLciv4 (no password) Edit3: Well it seems that the pitboss saves a recovery save file everytime someone ends their turn. So things should be fine. But I'd still like to see how well things handle when I'm not the only one in the server ![]()

It'll take a bit longer but it makes the game much more interesting IMO. @nitram- I'm sure you can find a torrent of it somewhere. Or just buy it, it's only like $20. Ya but that requires going to a store and looking for it :/

I dont know about multiplayer, but for singleplayer, Epic game speed rather than Normal is much better (means that building, researching, etc take longer). The reason is because in Normal speed, technology is researched too quickly, which makes many techs, such as military ones, obsolete a bit too quickly. By the time your newly created army reaches your enemy's base, he already has something that beats it, as movement speed does not change depending on the game speed. But for multiplayer pitboss, this would also mean each turn means less, which may not be good if we're not going through turns quickly. Perhaps someone with more experience online could advise us?

but just go read the revised OP Falcynn: I think we should test out a hamachi server beforehand. I tried to run a hamachi game for civ4 last night but couldnt see each other's games, and had similar problems with starcraft a few weeks ago (tho before that I used to use it a lot and it worked). just PM me or something when youd like to try it

1. If I run BTS will it have the content from all three games? If no, is it possible to have the content from all three games? 2. If I run Warlords then will I only have the content from vanilla + warlords (seeing that warlords is the first expansion pack and BTS the second) 3. If I run vanilla then I will only have the content from the original game? Also is Warlords any good?

BTS includes all the content from warlords, except for some scenarios/custom maps. It's really not worth spending money on warlords.
