They make excellent games, but their support sucks.
I remember that terrible Mass Effect 2 bug which made the game CTD when there was this bright blue light that came out of reaper cores. Had to play the damn thing like 100 times to get through each of the 3 parts it happened.
Then I go to the Bioware support site, guess what their answer was, to tons of ppl asking the same thing "We do not intend to fix this issue"
Fuck them. Great games, terrible support.

If you want to join a guild, join my: ScAGAN: Science Appreciation Guild for Addicted Nerds
I'm mostly looking for players who don't want to play all the time, but 1-2 hours a day.

I won't be able to play unless I'm specifically reinvted for this week, right?
I couldn't play last weekend because my mainboard broke down.

Where can we see the new build?

I think they re-invited the people that delivered most bug reports and played the most last weekend. I'm not re-invited

So I played extensive republic characters, but my buddy on Imperial said that they get shafted hardcore. Going to copy paste what he linked me in Steam chat.
+ Show Spoiler + You can not kill any important Republic characters. You can not save any important Imperial characters. This is as close as you get to killing a single important Republic-alligned character -- starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jaric_Kaedan Darth Malgus dies. Darth Barras dies. Darth Thanatos. Keeper Dies.
Grand Moff Kilran dies in a Republic level 30 instance, after appearing for a grand total of 2-3 minutes to Imperial players in a level 10 instance and is never mentioned again, but there's an image of him on Dromund Kaas to add insult to injury. Dying words:"I don't deserve this... there was so much left to conquer...." Best character in the game completely wasted.
The Emperor dies.
Basically every interesting Imperial character gets killed by the Republic and those not interesting enough may even have an important place in the Imperial player's storyline where they will then be killed off. The story is told through a thousand throwaway one quest characters denoted by rank rather than character with often impossible to remember names. The stories end with you as either the Hand of the nonexistent Emperor, the Lord of the nonexistent Dark Council or the head of the nonexistent Imperial Intelligence all of which can not prevent the most humiliating and utter defeat imaginable. The Republic wins in every way conceivable and you can do nothing to stop it.
You lose, but thanks for paying, although it would have been the same without you.

Anyone confirm? I did play Sith for like 2 levels, but that's it. If this is true, that's stupid man. I am wanting to try out the game again, hoping that Sith shit can be a lot more fun than Republic quests. However, if we get shafted this hard, it's not even worth it =/
Please tell me he's just fucking with me or something.

I thought you were putting that stuff in a spoiler just because it was a long chat, not because you were going to actually spoil the story. Thankfully I stopped reading once I noticed that.
I was just like "okay... how did he get shafted? *click*... wait, what? I don't want to see story spoilers!"

Well, yeah. Generally spoilers are for spoilers.
Shocker, I know.
From what he says though, almost all of it is pre-level 40 spoilers, however.

Well you could've clarified a bit, I was expecting only a convo as well. But the if you have followed the story just before SWTOR you know the Empire pretty much shat on Republic(I don't even understand why they made a peace treaty, as if they needed one if they could march into the capitol worlds of the Republic and thrash the party)in multiple ways. I didn't get my Imperial Agent that high level so I can't really say what happens in the story but this is very plausible.
The Republic coming against impossible odds and in the end beating the big scary Empire and a happy end, wait how does this work on a MMO? Exactly what I've been wondering myself how does the story play at max level, many have been disappointed how WoW have handled the story and I can only hope BioWare is not going to do the same. While it is going to be a major bummer if it looks like your faction is getting the short end of the stick; I still trust the company in making enough that the story if anything in this game is going to be the driving force, and of quality.

Exactly. It's super happy ending for the Republic, but the other half of the playerbase gets completely fucked over and everything they do is 100% meaningless. Assuming everything is true.

You played GW2 or are you just assuming GW2 will be better? O_O. Just curious how you can come to that statement when the game isn't even in beta as far as I know.

I managed to get my hands on 30-40 minutes of GW2 during PAX, they let a lot of people play the demo, and it was pretty fucking nice. From that and all the gameplay videos they are releasing, and everyone else is releasing, I really got high hopes for that game. Hopefully they can deliver.
Also, we don't know if the game is in beta yet. They said "Closed" Beta is "Closed" for a reason, so we may not even know when it's going on or not.

I preodered SWTOR today and I can't wait to get into the early access! Oh man my exams will be so bad because of this game :D:D

well if its true you can expect it to backswing eventually, bioware wont give imperials a game over screen and delete their chars. I dont know how they want to do their story, i only know that WoW abandoned the Horde vs Alliance story really quickly and let them fight against some bigger enemies. How else would you do it if you dont want to annoy half the playerbase.

Well yeah, of course. It just seems like a dick move that there is absolutely nothing they can do about it, and get a big "fuck you" ending. If you don't want to read the spoilers, basically in the end you get super powerful and that's really it. The entire empire is in shambles and fucked over and there was not a thing you could do about it, but at least you are amazing as the Republic wins it all. I do hope an ancient evil awakens or something, because that's going to be pretty, if I dare say, fucking stupid if they leave it like that.
Again, I would like some insight from someone else who got high level Empire to confirm what is being said before I make any concrete opinions on the matter. I would hate to base my opinions on false information, but I know that he himself has a higher level Empire character so I am putting a bit of trust in his word.
Can I get a bit of confirmation, ye?

I switched from Republic to Sith because it looked like another WoW PvP BG where all the good guys (Republic/Alliance) get dominated so hard due to lack of healers.

Not sure how much of an external threat you could give the old universe. Maybe Mandaloran but honestly if memory serves them coming back to a full strength is hopelessly unlikely at this point. Anything else would seem just out of place. You can't put in the Vong, I am honestly really curious what kind of expansion and end game storyline would be besides just one faction becoming suddenly better then the other.
