This of course isn't to say you'll be required to have both types of tank in your group, but I could only imagine it'd be helpful

This means the pool of people who are able to test which tanks are most raid-ready, even in certain situations, is very small. The only thing we do know is that there are at least two divisions of two types of tanks: Ranged/Melee, and Damage Soaker/Avoidance. Gun classes would be ranged, saber classes are melee. Juggernauts and Guardians are soakers, Shadows and Assassins are avoidance tanks. Secondly, anyone who has hit 50 and started testing this stuff isn't talking about it publicly. ![]() Thirdly, it's still a testing phase, and even as late in the game as it is, things are still changing. Abilities are being tweaked, removed, revised, and invented. Lastly, we don't even know what the trees look like, completely. No tester has posted full trees, so we can't examine them and get theorycraft which talents work well together, and which trees look stronger. Part of this is due to the third issue: talents are still evolving. No clue. The only thing we do know is that in PVP characters have a long Time-to-Kill, and that everyone who's played any of the PVP has said it was freaking awesome. Particularly Huttball. Re: your worries about Sniper and other ranged classes-- it has been confirmed by the devs that such classes will have range-keeping and range-creating abilities. One of the classes (not sure which) has a kind of knockback AOE that helps it get away from targets which have managed to close on it. I noticed on the talents released so far juggernaut has an ability to reduce all forms of damage while the power tech seems to focus on only laser fire. So it's safe to assume bioware intends power tech to be the more situational tank with more utility? Also I think longer time-to-kill is bad for a range class. Sniper seems to be all about the set up and dropping their target quickly. Longer fight means more time to close in. I hope sniper can be good outside of situations where they use terrain well, or big battles, but I'm skeptical. Powertech is looking nice to me in pvp right now with their abilities to rope players in, and fly up on the jetpack. Depends how well they stand up in a fight against jedis.

No, I don't think it's safe to assume anything like that. As far as what's been released, we know of two talents in each of the trees of each AC. The fact that there are seven tiers, 41 points to play with, and few (if any) four or five point talents, means that two talents themselves may or may not be indicative of the tree to which they belong. And the plural of 'Jedi' is 'Jedi'. ![]()

They are still balancing roles, they recently added more healing classes which lead to some fairly hilarious discussions on how the Smuggler is going to heal (Hint: It's likely going to be Kolto shots, so you might get to shoot your allies to help them) So I wouldn't count anything out just yet.

For instance I have comcast and my IP changes quite frequently. It has to be something a little more then IP address, even if that's what's on the FAQ

My previous isp my ip started by 192, on this isp it starts by 213.If the first few numbers change, it triggers the security system. WoW had a similar security sistem, if my friend that has the same isp as me logged in my account, it wouldnt get locked, but if my other friend that had a different isp logged in, the account would get locked.
