I'd like to hear some opinions on Sith Assassins. I am thinking of rolling one next and speccing as a tank.

Assassins are really awesome fun and good single-target dps. ATM in level 26 and since about 15~ ive been able to come near top of any BG's ive entered. I can destroy elites with ease (with the tank companion) and do nice DPS in FP's. The tanking seems to be decent too with some nice skills, i havent tested it well though.
AoE is the assassins downfall, you basically have a KB and nothing else for aoe at my level, i dont know if it improves later on either.

Just watched your video and even that is a lot better than what I personally experience, although you jump very very late. Perhaps it's your computer, I don't know. But I'm not the only one complaining about it.
i pressed jump when the bar is filled, although the 2nd jump might be a bit late, but thats why i have 3. i jumped so early that the game actually writes "canceled" when i press my jump button. I really dont see the 0.5 seconds combat delay people are talking about. They confuse this with client side animations, i have those too with vobro blades, but they dont matter gameplay-wise.
remeber jump has a animation too, it starts with the char going down, collecting strenght. The actual button press happens when you see "canceled"
It doesn't affect everyone equally, but this is what they're talking about:
Now your just trolling on purpose -_- He posted the same fucking video.
By the way LaNague, yes i do read posts and watch videos. Hence why the troll just posted your same video with action delay. Its been tried and tested by 1000's of people, including myself in combat. Explain why i should believe some random person on TL who is now acting a turd?
Try not to be a complete d***wad when people arent attacking you personally, it doesnt get you far in life.
BTW SWTOR rocks.
?? you guys say something about ability delay and the common "proof" is someone casting the mount and canceling after the cast and the mount gets removed. I just told people a hundred times that this is for the mount cast only and that combat is not affected by it, but noone listens or tries it, so i made a video where i cast an actual combat ability and cancel it as soon after the cast as humanly possible and even though the Ui tells me i canceled and the animations break, the heal goes trough. This is proof that the servers are fine and there is no server sided ability delay, you dont need to believe me as a "random dude", you can see it in my video and do it yourself. Also, i dont see where i am being attacked or acting like a whatever that is amd i also dont need life lessons from you, i just try to show people that they suffer from reversed placebo effect.
Whatever, i did my best with this video, if you disregard it and think there is some server sided ability delay, so be it.
Ok mate, your not acting a total douche, i'll take your word for it. >.<

^ Thats why for all your proof you have it means nothing to me.
It is entirely possible that it effects certain people in areas of the world or internet connections or <insert unknown factor here> but it IS there. Deal with that fact.
If you dont want life lessons from me, may i suggest reading your posts back and considering it can sound quite rude, or at least obnoxious.
Now im going back to enjoying SWTOR. cya
have you considered that the felt delay is due to animations? Because this game is different to common mmos like WoW. The fact that it uses no auto attack made the developers use the global cooldown period for client side animations. This feels wrong for a WoW player, EQ2 players will feel quite at home and i think aion players too. Animations are client side, though. I never missed a interrupt or stun to cancel something, because server side it registers when the animations starts.
All the healers in my guild say Sith Assassin tanks are too squishy. Bounty Hunter tanks are pretty good with all their aoe threat :O
i know a competeiive hardcore raider that got a lvl 50 assassin in beta for months and rerolls him, cant be that bad. I also saw calculations that the tanks damage reduce and avoidance at 50 is less than 5% apart.

Could be people still don't know how to play them. I hear you got to keep a shield wall like ability up and it gets pretty annoying.

Anyways, if you watched this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azzv3DTQgyQ, keep in mind that people have agendas and ask yourself why he didnt do this with an actual combat ability of he tries to prove combat delay. I dont have fraps and no patience for video editing, but you can actually try it yourself ingame with a combat ability like heal. If you move before the animation finishes but after the castbar is full, your ability will go off and the animation is displayed while you run or jump.
It is sad that my voice on the official forums is silenced by bad trolls, one of my post in the big ability delay thread pointing this out even got deleted. i hope i can stop the widespread of this ability delay rumor here.
I havent really noticed it yet. I just though abilities que'd so sometimes they didnt go off as you had another ability que'd before it.
That said, if its true, scares me. Because that pretty much made me lose the will to live in warhammer, and in the end I think a major reason for its downfall. (although its lag delay was really significant and noticeable).
game is every bit as awesome as i thought it would be....pvp isn't as developed as it could be, but the lack of hugely impactful racials is cool also the storylines are amazing
Does the Bounty Hunter's damage become more... I'm going with 'sane,' later on? We're only ~19 right now (me a sniper, friend a BH) but he pushes one button and kills a group of 5. His damage vs Elites doesn't seem bad by any means either (although mine feels superior). Still, 1 button clearing a camp just seems off.

its supposed to, you are the elite essentially, they do a very good job of making you feel "heroic". In wow you are like...oh god theirs 3 mobs there, i hope i can kill 1 before my cc wears off or im dead. in ToR its like, pfff, i hope i don't get that third group thats patrolling or itll be tough. as time goes on, strong and elite mobs get harder, but you can still wipe the floor with normal enemies

I suppose, just gets a little boring when I don't get to shoot at groups that don't have elite in them cause he's already killed them all, lol. At least I get to roll some damage on bosses and elites I suppose.
I'm kinda enjoying levelling my Jedi Sentinel, but the lack of LFG tool is really hurting my interest. One of the things I loved about WoW's LFG tool was that whenever I felt bored of the grind I could just join a random dungeon and break the monotony of questing. I can't really do that with SWTOR and it's pretty frustrating. It's even more frustrating to see Bioware's current stance of " YOU WILL USE THE LFG CHANNEL AND LIKE IT AND BE BFF'S 4 EVER ". It's such a silly stance and will push people away from the game, like myself.
There are many "features" of WoW that I miss, but you have to realise that WoW is 6+ years old, so they've had time to implement all sorts of funky shit. It'll all come in time

Maybe we differ here, but I haven't felt a grind yet as I'm actually interested in the quests and the way they're presented. Dungeon Finder was nice but at the same time it filled a very different function in that game (for me at least). In WoW I'd grab a bundle of quests I didn't care about, set about killing 10 X and collecting 8 Y while queued. Eventually I'd join a group in a dungeon I didn't care about and kill everything inside (or sometimes skip fights entirely to get exp faster) and rinse and repeat. In SWTOR I'm invested in almost every quest I get. I've got my own personal narrative going for my character. If I was to suddenly, in the middle of defusing a bomb or wiping out a terrorist cell, jump to a random dungeon and start killing people for no reason with a bunch of people I'd never met before... well that doesn't really fit with what this game seems to be going for.

It's still pretty easy though, just advertise /1 with LFM xxxxxxxxxx while you quest and it normally doesn't take long to get a group.
That said, a dungeon finder would be fine though, just as long as it's not cross-realm, if they implement cross-realm dungeon finder and/or cross-realm warzones they've pushed me away at least. :p

The Bounty Hunter AoE skill is pretty crazy yes, but it's only "insane" in solo PvE so it's not really a problem. Tracer Missile debuff is the other "insane" skill in PvP that people enjoy complaining about already, but too early to say how big of a problem that is as well, most classes got something like that right now. So yeah I guess it evens out later on.
Loving the game. I was the ultimate skip-quest guy in WoW, didn't care who had gripes with what. If it was a farmer wanting me to get cabbages or some dude by a tower saying I needed to kill x at y, just wanted to hit max level or my target level asap so I could PvP at max efficiency. Here ... I'm actually hearing the dialogue, pondering my response choices, taking more moments to enjoy the scenery.
And of course pvping hard. In a server with 1:4 Jedi:Sith. Getting trashed by 50 premades in bgs, outnumbered in world pvp. But getting instant-pop bgs and world pvp with people stalking my movements hoping for the kill. Loving it (no sarcasm, really what I like about pvp servers).

I just got the game. What server are you on, and what are the queue times like?
I got this since 2 days and i'm enjoying it way more than i think i would have. I'm still not really into the graphics/art style but aside from that I really like it and it for sure looks "SW" .
They only things that I don't like that much are: Sniper seems to be a bit boring/stale... "Cover --> Pew, pew, pew --> Next mob" and I don't really see how I am supposed to ever beat a melee in PvP, either my burst has to become absolutely ridiculous or I need to get a whole lot more of CC/Evasion talents....
How is the "DPS"-Bounty Hunter spec to play? (Whatever it is called ).
BTW: This is actually WAY harder than WoW-Cataclysm is. Whoever tells something different should really go and level a Char in WoW NOW... I did it when Cata came... If you think SW:Tor is easy... You have no Idea what easy means (nowadays, sadly)...
Just raided for the first time last night. It feels like a beta test, we noticed major bugs on every boss except the gauntlet type event in eternity vault. Some of the bugs we're just like the type you see in WoW from time to time, like evade bugs and so on. We went in as a pug from 3 or 4 different guilds. We managed to get to the last boss of Eternity Vault after many bugged tries on the boss before it.
If we look away from the bugs I'm actually impressed with this entry level raid. The trash was boring and uninteresting (hey its trash so whatever right?) but the bosses had some interesting mechanics and you could tell that this wasn't meant to be challenging to a coordinated group on normal mode. The last boss was actually breath taking, it was on the same level as you'd expect a mid-tier end raid boss from wow would be in pure awesomeness and we didn't manage to beat the last phase since it was really tight and no pug will probably one shot it at current gear level.
