god that Bang was so bad, and the Carl... wasn't.

No shurikens thrown, didn't kill the puppet when it was almost drained, always tried to run up 2A (and always got hit for it), didn't block low, bad execution, kept placing himself between Carl and Nirvana without making Carl work for it, etc.

Kinda hard to tell how good the Carl was, since the Bang kept on giving him free combos by jumping in between Carl and Nirvana then running up for an obvious (and bad) 2A attempt. Carl did drain the Nirvana bar but never really got punished for it, but I guess sometimes you gotta burn that meter. His execution was on point, though. Gotta give him credit for that.

yeah but it was a nice showoff of Carl-Nirvana loop combos.

but if we are talking about Carl and Nirvana, let's not forget where they come from

Those were some great GG matches, thx.

Edit: Here's some footage of my 2nd-day Tager and 1st-day Taokaka. Don't expect much since I'm no pro or anything ^^;;. At least I had some "pro" moments, I guess.

By the way, I'm still getting used to how quickly you get guard broken in BlazBlue if you don't FD (two blockstrings without FD = guardbreak ). As a result, I get guard broken at least once per match

Also, I often forget to do things like activate Taokaka's Genei-Jin (well, it's really more like Seiei-Enbu, but anyway). In fact, I'm better at remembering to activate it after I win than before, seriously. ^_^;;;;;

In case someone knows here, I'm getting more latency in GGPO than i think i should. Could the lag be caused by my computer?

It could be any number of things.

Offline issues on your setup not related to GGPO:
  • Larger LCD monitors may have noticeable display lag -- something that happens shows up on the screen XX ms later mostly because of processing delays
  • If you are using a controller, especially through a converter, those can give you input lag
  • If your computer is many years old and you're trying to emulate a relatively newer game like 3rd Strike, you could have issues

Network issues controllable by you:
  • Any concurrent downloads or uploads on your computer will destroy your performance -- could be unintentional spyware/trojan/whatever or a file download; torrents/p2p are especially bad
  • Any concurrent downloads or uploads by any other computer on your network (i.e. going through your router to the Internet) will likewise destroy your performance
  • If you are connecting through wireless, expect worse performance unless you are sure you have no neighbors using wireless and no microwaves/cordless phones/any other interference
  • Check your router and modem filtering, port forwarding, etc. settings again -- it really should only effect who you can connect to rather than how good the connection is, but...
  • Cheapo router or modem is maybe going into a bad state -- try power off/on to reset what's in RAM and all the current connections, etc.

Try going to the command prompt (terminal) and doing something like:
ping www.google.com -n 50

If the time reported is jumping around and/or it says there were some packets lost, that would indicate some network issues to resolve (most likely somebody else is using the Internet).

What kind of pings is GGPO reporting for the opponents you are facing? Generally you can't trust games played over 150+ ms ping, although some do work in the 150-250 ms range depending (with low packet loss).

I'm usually around 100~200ms with my opponents, varies (and only played guys from my same country). I thought that maybe online consumed more than offline and that was the cause, but now i think it's probably that my family might be clogging the connection for smooth gaming (4/5 different computers with the same connection).
Either that or someone used my computer and used IE instead of FF.

Thanks for the tips Myrmidon!
Btw, my nick on GGPO is pepequ if anyone is up for noob bashing.

This. I've watched this video SO many times, it never gets old, lol. It's incredibly rare to see combos like that in melee 2v2s. I think every smash fan had a nerdgasm when this match was released >.>. (Not to mention SilentSpectre finished fox with a knee, quite possibly the sexiest move in the game n_n).

GGPO for 3rd Strike is laggy to me even with < 100 ping, no matter on whether I play on a home connection or elsewhere. I didn't notice it until I got better at the game but it's laggy to the point of where I can't take it seriously as a form of competition. Players much better than me in my area agree with this assessment.
