Okay, BlazBlue is pretty really fun. I'm using Tager, Arakune, and Taokaka now.

Tager's magnetism is pretty funny. I realized all his D moves magnetize on hit and on block, AND his D normals pull the opponent towards him. xD The best move is using heat fist (623C) while they're magnetized and pulling them in from across the screen. xD

Arakune has crap for defense, but his aerial moves are GODLIKE:
- he has 3 command normals where he attacks and dashes forward, each one travelling a different distance
- j.B is like Yoshi's 2A in Smash
- he has 3 diving attacks, one that goes forward, one in-place, and one that turns back

Once the opponent is cursed, you can cross them up all day with a combination of dashes and dives while summoning bugs.

As for Taokaka, I honestly don't know why I use her. 90% of my gameplan with her right now is just trying to Counter Hit with 5C or j.C into big damage. =/ She has a long karathrow range comparable to Tager's 360A or Chun Li's mk karathrow. Reverse-throw is one of her best combo-starters, too. However, I rarely get opportunities to use it. =/

Worst of all, Taokaka's air combos are ALL character-specific, and the differences from char to char are huge. I don't think I found a single air combo that worked on the entire cast. And to top it off, if I whiff a D or 9D and drop my combo, then my opponent gets a free combo after they recover.

For some reason I find her more fun than Tager or Arakune, though. (The question is, do I feel more character love for her than for Tager/Arakune? Arakune's special move names are all math terms, and as a Mathie that turns me on...) I think I'll be a lot better with Taokaka once I learn some new offensive options for her.

honestly I think it was a design flaw to give random object throwing to taokaka, who is a millia-like rushdown character.

that's not by.hero, it's Hero_V_.

At the least, Hero_V_ does not resemble kuroda.

Random old salarymen always turn out to be top ST players or something. SBO ST always has a bunch of teams that are like 3 guys in suits vs. some guys in like Hawaiian shirts or something silly like that.

Played a bunch of Tager today, it's funny watching how people come to the realization that they can't play risky at all against him.
Then they stop playing risky and it's like "hmm how do I make them take a stupid risk." Reaction super through strings is hilarious though. As is backdash, throw/buster into combo.

Bill-
I agree, Taokaka is mad fun, yo. She is very much a frame-trappy kind of character, fishing for that CH 5B/5C or throw is pretty standard.
Get used to character specific stuff though, that's just how most modern fighting games are- Taokaka is nowhere near as "omg character/spacing/EVERYTHING specific" as #R Johnny though, thankfully. It is a huge pain to figure out and remember all the combos for every character though, lol. Keep at it, ganbatte or whatever~

Also just a random thought, but there is a fairly lenient amount of time to input one of her D~A/B/C moves on whiff if you are looking for it, which would help lessen the "whoops I missed time to get punished" thing... though of course just getting the combos down pat would lessen that more, haha. The combos are definitely kinda finicky though, so shrug.

Got to play Taokaka again this morning before I had to leave. Taokaka vs Arakune is SOOOO MUCH EASIER than Tager vs Arakune, imo. Unfortunately, I learned that after a blocked 5D~B ground cross-up, Arakune (and probably the rest of the cast) can stuff her 2A with theirs. (But I guess that's necessary 'cause otherwise you'd have an endless blockstring, at least until they IB'd the 5D.)

I agree that "Super through blockstring" is awesome in this game, by the way. The Noel and Jin guys I was playing with had predictable places in their blockstrings where I could get out with a super, or even a throw or 5A if I was close enough.

I found out you can (easily?) throw Noel out of her sweep, after my friends and I saw a Noel player using it to counter Taokaka's 5C spam and then one of them started to use it vs me. Wow, I just realized I found a counter to a counter from a Japanese match that the players in the video apparently didn't know about. This is like a first for me in ANY game, to discover a counter without seeing it in a video or replay first. :O

That's a good idea, but currently I'm at the stage where if I'm doing an air combo with j.9D~9 j.C or j.6D~6 j.C, then I mash on D and C to get them to come out with the right timing. T_T I'll try to remember it for next week, though, when we're having a BlazBlue tournament. (And also an AHF tournament.)

Random fact: if she throws a white softball with 214B, and it misses the opponent, it will fly around the world in a matter of seconds and fly across the screen again.

i said it was a design flaw .. it is too slow, useless and doesn't fit anyway to her style..
