Sentinel c.HP unblockable isn't really that hard to understand, and it isn't really anything to do with "attack frames not causing you to block" so much as the lack of proximity blocking in MvC2 and like every modern fighting game. MvC2 Magneto isn't quite as broke as "no dizzying out of my infinite" TvC characters, or "you do get dizzy and then I get to keep comboing you" in previous Vs. games. IM 300% doesn't really happen often 'cuz the third character will dizzy out if you were literally doing a 1-touch kill. CapCom assist isn't fully invincible till active IIRC, it gets cleanly beat out by some things like Doom assist. Not saying MvC2 isn't broke, but it's more the case that Marvel wears its brokeness on its sleeve while other games pretend they aren't as broke as they actually are. | ||

By proximity blocking you mean that effect where an opponent does moves across the screen and your guy blocks or are you referring to something else? (like ST or SF4's focus attacks (I think focus attacks seem like the only move that cause this)). Just curious, as I'm not very familiar with marvel's engine other than really basic stuff. I'll probably have an answer for you by monday I'm going to a tournament today so i'm getting ready and checked this thread briefly but it might be either "the killing blade" (arcade) or "weaponlord" snes/genesis but this is off the top of my head and I'll have to sort through my collection of bad fighting games i'm gonna lose to balrog in SF4, and a shoto in ST, going ahead and calling it. | ||

That's why e.g. Taokaka vs Arakune and Arakune vs Taokaka don't add up to 10. If that's the case, then apparently their Taokaka player thinks she sucks. anotak - yeah, that's it. Newer games do away with the "lol they jabbed at fullscreen BETTER BLOCK" that happens in SF2 series and such, but proximity blocking just makes you do that if the attack gets "close enough." Actually I guess I worded it improperly, since I guess MvC2 does have proximity blocking... but a badly coded (probably super early/poorly thought out) version of it, so Sentinel's beam isn't "close enough" to trigger proximity blocking after it fades out... and I guess in MvC2, if proximity blocking doesn't trigger, actual blocking doesn't :V | ||
