You, as a pub player (this includes me too, and I'd guess your MMR is lower) don't last hit well enough to get it as early as pros do, thus you should focus on getting your core items, not delaying them further.

It starts to give it's worth back after your first major item usually. Ah, this makes a lot of sense. I forgot to mention about that under 10 minute buy. Al'right, so I guess I won't even bother (it sounds like it'd work for Treant though D: )

They are not shitting on the current player base, we got more or less everything today that we had yesterday. The people they are giving a hard time are the new players. It's hell going through the game with 15 heroes, only AP and playing with randoms trying to grind to level five at which point they still won't have more than 15 heroes and now have to get tokens to play anything else than AP. Why can't they give new players the option to just buy a legacy account for 30$ and just be able to play with their friends like always. It's a hassle to play with friends that want to try HoN now. The only logic is that they make it puposly hard for new players so that they will want to skip the early stage and buy coins and then buy heroes and tokens and in that way earn more money then if they just gave to money like everyone has for a long time. Conclusion; they are shitting on new players, not old ones.

Some people love the item, some people hate it, but I think its a pretty good guideline. Anyways, back to the F2P change, personnally I think people need to give it a break, of course for the first week or two its gonna be trash, griefers everywhere, people pub stomping, people leaving games, thats quite obvious, but im pretty sure that once the buzz settles down the amount of these things that plague the game will start going down. As much as we can question S2s decision, I think its fair to say that they are not retarded individuals and if something is obviously going wrong, they will manage to find a way around it.

That said, it's probally not a competitive item, it works when you are pubbing for fun but may not be viable in competitive play. Going for it with TDL, letting your team hold 4x5 for 30mins and then raping everything may not be a particular good strategy, but it's pubs, sometimes you just want to have fun. If you don't queue with people you know, your teammates may not be that happy though.

Forcing us to either play at a disadvantage most games, or give in and fork out money. What do you call that, if not shitting over your current playerbase (I can basically wipe my ass with the "legacy" status, yes it has what I had yesterday, but comparatively [thanks to MKK] it's worth less). I hope I made it clear this time.

Seeing the new patch.. well, can't stop laughing. It's a piece of shit patch, cannot believe it. Just to add: has anyone checked the "new spectator interface" ? I really thought that the TL HoN/Dota were a bit more mature but apparently kids and whiners like you are all over this thread. It's ONE feature to be able to highlight your current selection in order to make it more clear. Now they happened to highlight the border which is the best an most obvious way done in many games (including LoL). Nothing else with the "new specator interface" is cartoonish, it's one little feature (that you can turn of anyway) and you cry like a little baby. Grow up please.

Care to answer my post above (which was directed at your opinion mostly, nothing personal)? I'd love to see you disprove my theory and prove my fears baseless (I'm not being a dick, I really like this game and want it to survive), unless you categorize me as just another "whiner" - which would be pretty sad, 'cause I think I articulated my point of view pretty well. And I know that it may look like baseless guessing, but I'm usually not far off with predictions like this - to me, it seems clear where this whole thing is going... Edit: typo

I already paid for HoN! Was my money wasted now that it's Free-to-Play? Not at all! Legacy accounts are now a rarity, part of our old business model you're getting additional new content (outside of any potential pay for content expansions) for free, which is a perk no longer available to new accounts whom have to unlock new content. Depending on their pricing model for the other game modes and hero 10 bucks isn't all that bad for getting everything pretty much. I do think the limited hero pool is crap but seeing as im the one with unfair advantage some reason i dont mind as much.

Edit: typo Well we will have to wait and see, right now we don't even know that every single new hero will be released in this form. Also I don't think S2 will intentionally "overpower" new heroes to make people buy them. The fact that they are new and hopefully interesting should make people buy them anyway. I am not worried at all but right now I of course know as little as you but if there is one thing I know it is that so far S2 games have not made moves that have threatened game balance by offering advantages to some.

As a legacy player (an even bigger chump because I bought a 30$ account 1.5 weeks before they went on sale- FML) I don't see this as a problem. True I've probably played only around 100 games so I can't really comment on how this might change the dynamics of all the matchmaking settings, but a lot of LoL players will switch over, who might recognize HoN as they game they'd rather play for many reasons (let's not get into THAT discussion) but didn't want to spend the money. Plus it's a preemptive move against the release of DoTA 2. Glad to see S2 manning up. There's nothing that says that DotA 2 won't be free-to-play. In fact, after Valve made Team Fortress 2 free-to-play I feel that the chance for DotA2 to be free as well is quite big. TF2 seems like a test to me.

Of course theyre going to pull off move that they think will get more money in, but theyre not dumb enough to make radical move that is going to scare the players away instead of making them buy, thats completely ridiculous. also they didn't really alienate their player base it's set up to play the same for their legacy players. If anything they give them privilege similar to alienate but without the negative connotations of that word.

Yeah except for the sneak preview of new heroes, which, to me, really doesnt matter much, but youve got those people saying its the end of the world, seriously.
