only reason i think its not as popular because you have to buy it online and they dont really retail it at stores. but the stats, mmr, replay system, graphics is pretty top notch. graphics are just as good as sc2. yes the community is not the greatest but im hoping it can be big. anyways its only 30$ thats cheaper than getting roc/tft i think.. not sure the price is on that anymore. LOL you have to pay more for all the heros really. it will probably takes more than a year to get enough IP to buy all the heros.

That's really not the only reason some people prefer dota, but this point's been debated to death on this thread already. If you're hoping hon keeps growing, it's not likely with Dota 2 on the horizon

Our plan? Both random (if possible) and jungle their side together! ahaha - surprise #1: All 3 games we did this, we didn't get the rage from our team that we expected. They didn't even really say "wtf" or anything. surprising right? - surprise #2: it actually worked out okay lol - we got first blood all 3 games. 1st game we were pest + polly, 2nd temp + mag (SD mode), 3rd elect + moraxus i know this probably wouldnt be viable in higher level games, but i think it could be a fun stress-relieving style of playing (after you get sick of trying too hard) if you random heroes, with the extra gold.. do not buy courier!! (remember, you are trolling.. at least for the beginning) but as the game progresses it could actually work out okay. Other than the fact that you fuck up the lanes (harhar), there are some pros to this: - your 3 laning heroes get more exp (unless the other team really knows how to play :p) - its harder for them to gank you in the jungle (they would be goign up against you and your partner troll instead of just you) - EZ ganks on their mid and short lane (they probably wouldnt suspect a thing for a bit, at least until you get firstblood!) -------------- how i think it should be played (very rough, only tried 3 games with it) - random hero (you're trolling, you want the extra gold! :D) - if you random, one of yuo should buy 2 stout shields to tank. and then mostly health pots and mana potions - if you cant random, choose gankers. I also think that if one of you can choose a junglign hero, it works great. you can use minions to tank for you etc - you need to gank mid and short lane a lot! - for first level, unless you plan on ganking level 1, level the spell that will help you jungle (for example, i leveled the explosion thing for mag). then when you hit level 2, gank! - one of yuo should get bottle and camp the rune spot every 2 minutes. youre mid should head towards the other one! - once you get basics (boots, chalice, powersupply, bottle, or whatever you need), buy some warsd. - you obviously wont be getting much gold from jungle, most of it will come through ganking. ------------ so this is basically kinda like double-roamer except you're not roaming from the start, you're jungling, and you tend to stay in jungle for a while for gold and exp, while ganking. its also trolling because.. wtf? who goes to jungle together on their side? :D thoughts?

In SC the manner thing came from Korea blah blah and the majority of players were mature and a little older due to the age of the game. New blood or younger kids who started to play SC would see this "manner" phenomenon and even if they were bad mannered little dipshits on East they'd still confine themselves to being vaguely polite and well mannered during at least competitive or casted games. On the other hand there is no older, more mature, and respected group of competitive players in HON/DOTA it seems to me. SC was a large community but an insular one. HON is not. New kids who play are greeted by extreme bad manners and so that's what they turn to. There's no Korean pros to emulate, no Mondragon's with their super polite never ever BM mannerisms, etc. Imagine if Idra were a HON player and not a SC/SC2 player. The rage would be astronomical. What contains him is public expectation. Even people who were slobbering slavering dribbling driveling drooling absolute cocksuckers on East come onto TL and curb everything because they know there's gonna be consequences for it. I'm not talking about the posting that got me banned in the past -- for those who know me -- but rather the way people talked on East. HON celebrates BM, and for that it will never be able to be televised nationally like SC in Korea, at least in the West. In Asian countries this kind of attitude for the most part either repressed or oppressed. It also will never change as long as sponsors don't enforce public appearance rules for players who carry their names, and why would they? The competitive scene is tiny and hardly worth sponsoring anyways. If a Korean progamer were to act the way HON "progamers" (it is a misnomer and a joke to use this term for them) there would be severe consequences from their sponsors/coaches/whatever. As long as the main players for HON are egotistical, mostly high school/barely in college children, then there will never be a "real" scene. Korean SC pros include many high school students but there is an established etiquette so that doesn't matter. Just my take on the situation.

I think the thing is that you got offended by their items etc. But i agree its fun to play wierdly and enjoy a game every now and then. As long as you are not extremely throwing the game you always have a chance to win.

Umm in DotA, there are: Maelk BabyKnight NS (when he isn't drinking) Fear Demon Ducky etc. There are respected players in the scene, it's just that the bm people like Misery, Kebap, PGG gets more attention.
