Furthermore, I got to play Arcana Heart again yesterday in between bouts of mass-3s: it is FUN! I also learned (during 3s) how to beat my friend's Yun. See, unlike other Yuns, he's reluctant to active Genei-Jin without comboing into it, scoring a knockdown, or at least hitting me into blockstun first. So now, whenever he gets a near-full metre, I just run play keep-away with Makoto, doing random neutral j.rh and tsurugis and other shit to build my own metre. He has a hard time getting in on me when I'm doing that, which nets me some free damage.

Good stuff Bill, you should've told me this stuff before I fought against good makotos at the arcade. I had to learn the hard way (3 wins out of 20 games, lol). Haji, u know why Gvision hasn't had any ranbats recently? Or maybe they just haven't been putting up the matches? Edit: I think I finally under stand how a "cabinet feeler" plays. My friend explained to me how this one guy at the arcade does it. Supposedly he watches your hand movements out of the corner of his eye, so if you even twitch your stick, he'll know and he'll confirm his cr. mk xx super like that. My friend did it against me and (not to my surprise) he never missed a cr. mk xx super >_>.

I wonder if they just randomly got together 8 people and decided to record a tournament >_< Good stuff Bill, you should've told me this stuff before I fought against good makotos at the arcade. Yeah, I just finished watching the matches in between study bouts. None were particularly good and some were spectacularly bad =P. Here's another anti-Makoto tip (that my friend uses to own me): when you're at Makoto's sweep distance, excluding the taller cast members (e.g. Dudley), the ONLY "safe" offensive measures Makoto can take are all normals that can be parried low, dash-up throw, and EX hayate. So at that distance, always parry low and watch carefully for her dash and her EX hayate startup. Furthermore, outside of her dash distance, Makoto can't really do anything to you, except for an EX hayate (which can be parried on reaction, if you're not building metre) or an unsafe fierce hayate. Consequently, I've realized Makoto is much more effective against tall cast members, where her standing forward and crouching roundhouse become effective pokes. These pokes are terrible against e.g. Ken and Chun Li because a cr.mk goes right under them.

Some of the guys at the arcade are organizing a trip up to FFA during break. I'm hoping to tag along and maybe make some videos w/ my phone =P

My friend (named Yang, btw) said he met a similar Yun player in Mississauga or Toronto who can feel your joystick movements when you try a reversal super/shroyu on wake-up and block them on reaction. A key reason why those American cabinets suck. My friends and I have noticed a similar problem when we play casual games on a PS2: often we can see and especially hear each others' sticks, so it's harder to do reversals on wake-up because you have to input them quickly so that your opponent doesn't have time to react to it. I suppose you can counter this by faking reversals on wake-up, then walking up and throwing, but it seems unnatural to do it when in a real arcade (with Japanese cabinets) it would never be necessary =/.

I think you can still taunt your opponent with H2H: they can still hear you if you shout loudly, combined with the in-game taunts. There was a guy at our now-closed campus arcade who used to do both, though he did it to be an asshole =P. If you go to one of FFA's ranbats, say something on the mic . Also, I'd be particularly interested in vids of Arlieth's and Ken I.'s Makotos, naturally . In any case, have fun .

A cheaper alternative might be to get 2 TVs and a video splitter, and position them head-to-head. (we do have two RACs so that isnt an issue, the real thing does make a diff, and it's not like we spend money on shit in the first place anyways)

X_X (we do have two RACs so that isnt an issue, the real thing does make a diff, and it's not like we spend money on shit in the first place anyways) Well, you could always buy chairs and small tables for those needs . I usually put my stick on my legs. I figure I should learn to play with it in that position rather than on a table because generally, no matter where I play, as long as I'm sitting down, my legs should always be at more or less the same position relative to my body, whereas the height of the available tables will likely vary. On a random, pointless note: I am looking at a sample exam (for my concurrency course) and it has a coding problem involving cars crossing a bridge. I decided I need a local variable to count the number of cars crossing the bridge at any given time. So I started thinking about what to name the variable, and decided I will have to call it "crossCounter" .

LOL @ Drop vs Yuuki, that was the funniest and at the same time the most opener I've ever seen. maybe i'll start posting my random marvel cravings in a blog so I dont make all the 3s guys mad. But soon hopefully i'll have a handicam and i'll post up some of mike playing morrigan... :D!!!! u wont be saying that shit is flakey then. it works off a whiff and a guard. And if they pushblock it puts morrigan in the perfect spot to triangle jump again, where that jab gives her mad priority over anything that's not like ironman, storm, psy, smethign like that
