Anyone know the name of this arcade fighter? I don't remember much about it but anyway, it has a dracula character and a reptile type character. The graphics were cartoonish like SF and it looks pretty similar to thrid strike graphics wise and style. But probably not as advanced. It was fun, maybe i can find it somewhere. | ||

That's a little more specific than Google's translation, at least ("wipe-units").Hmm... I think the closest english term is "dish towel", since I remember my mother used to use our "dish towel" for wiping off the counter around the sink as well. I got a chance to sit down with Arcana Heart's training mode for an hour today. One reason I've been using mainly Kira is because most of her big damage comes from throws, so I figured she'd be easy to use effectively. But when I tried to do one of her aerial or corner combos, I found out it's very hard. Compared to 3s, the timing of moves in AH feels much less forgiving. My record in training mode was a 9-hit combo, dealing about 2/3 as much damage as her 720 super grab. Interestingly, after only about 6 hits, each subsequent hit did less than 50% (I wish Yun had that kind of damage scaling on his Genei-Jin combos ). | ||

With a little more training mode time today, my record in the corner (starting from cr.B) is 14 hits using 2 homing bars and her rocket toss. It's essentially two repetitions of her midscreen combo, which I can do somewhat reliably now. For anyone who wants to see what this combo looks like, see the match video in the spoiler tag below. I wrote out the combo in 3s-ish notation so that everyone can read it. It's almost the same as the combo I've learned to do. One aspect of these combos that I find really tricky is the timing between the different inputs. Some of them are "rapid-fire", like Ken's close strong xx close fierce chain, while others need tiny pauses in between, like Ken's cr.short xx cr.jap xx cr.short chain. Example: for the combo below, the first 3 inputs (A, up, A) need slight delays between them, but the C has to be done asap after the second A. Then you need to wait for a sec (because j.C has a long start-up), then you need to do the homing cancel and splash asap or else the opponent can recover, but if you try to homing cancel too early it won't work. And that's just the first 4 hits! In other words, the combos are a lot more complicated and detailed than they look x_x. + Show Spoiler + At 2:18, metal slime does the following combo: j.A xx jump cancel, j.A xx j.C xx fwd homing cancel, splash (down C in air), cr.B xx rocket toss, cr.A xx B xx C xx fwd homing cancel, A, j.A xx jump cancel, j.C (at which point Saki gets KO'd) In my case, I use a worse follow-up to the rocket toss (just C instead of cr.A xx B xx C). So that'll be something for me to learn next time, in addition to the boot loop. Also, at 3:01, he goes into the boot loop in the corner.
