IIRC, experience is shared in D2, so it's actually not optimal for 8 players to party up because you kill shit too fast. I remember people joining 8 player act 1 games, for example, and going to act 4/5 and soloing there. Most of my games were played in parties of 1-3 people. In D3, I played a lot of games with a group of 1-3 people as well. I only remember people getting pissed at necros with a billions summons regularly and that was to some extend also because it made their fps drop. I don't remember ever getting flamed for casting something because "visual clutter". | ||

Not sure, can there ever be more than 4 players together fighting in other scenarios that include many monsters? If so I don't really know why else there would be a 4 limit. Or is it because the monsters don't scale up at all for having more players around? Or to limit how much scaling would be going on due to that. Or it just doesn't seem playable, but then world bosses anyway. | ||

I have it on good authority that there will be a dialogue that pops up with “you must gather your party before venturing forth” before moving areas. | ||
