The art style being similar to Octopath is kind of nice though. I've heard some articles comparing it to Tactics Ogre as well. It's the game I'm most hyped on. I hope it turns out well. I've pretty much given up on mainline Final Fantasy. I'm hoping the Octopath/Bravely team keeps churning out these old-school type of turn-based games. That team has a good track record so far with Octopath and Bravely. Hope it will translate into tactics RPG also.

That said, I haven't played the demo, and there's a place for games that don't reinvent the wheel. I just hope they end up putting some metaphorical rims on it or something.

I didn't love the demo of Triangle, which was disappointing, but there's definitely plenty of development time left. I haven't played Tactics Ogre, but I love Octopath and Bravely ![]()

I think named characters may have advantages over nameless recruits but I can't remember the particulars anymore. I only played Knight of Lodis and Let Us Cling Together.

Easy snag if this ever goes on sale, 20$ base cost feels a bit high unless you have nostalgia or interest in these. Really cool to have then come to switch though as I enjoyed Lost Vikings on Gameboy years ago. Never tried the other games in the package, but I saw the racing one has 4 player couch play so picked this up to try with my roommates.

My googling didn't yield any results and Nintendo's own website is one of the worst sites in terms of finding useful information that I've used in a long time.

I don't quite understand that new Pokemon game... open-world, but the world looks really empty. And I guess we can just easily catch Pokemon at full health without needing to fight? The trailer shows some informal fights, but not much else. I guess this is just an early teaser, given that the game won't be out until 2022. I hope to see a lot more over the next year!

Heck someone today on a Reddit thread pointed out how some smartphones have more powerful chips than what the Switch has currently. I agree. I generally don't care about Nintendo trying to compete on the hardware-side of things against Microsoft and Sony, since Nintendo has its own comfortable niche, but there are some Switch games where even I'm disillusioned at the lack of progress there. On a related note, the rumored Switch Pro / Super Nintendo Switch might have significantly better hardware, but we'll have to wait and see.

Its what we've been asking for, a departure from the top down 8-bit style that they've been stuck on since Red/Green/Blue.
