First of all, Nintendo's own website: https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/pokemon-sun-3ds/ But of course, they could've changed the price since release (Although, Nintendo typically doesn't do that) So let's look at some articles (which are from when the games released) about various 3DS pokémon games: https://www.usgamer.net/articles/02-11-2017-pokemon-ultra-sun-and-ultra-moon-release-date-price-new-monsters-new-content-everything-we-know Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon Essential Information: Release Date: November 17, 2017 Price: $39.99 Platform: Nintendo 3DS https://gadgets.ndtv.com/games/features/pokemon-sun-and-moon-release-date-price-and-everything-else-you-should-know-1627191 Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will be available in the US at $40 (approximately Rs. 2,700) each. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20141027005198/en/Nintendo-News-Catch-Pokémon-Omega-Ruby-Pokémon Separately, each game sells at a suggested retail price of $39.99 So uh, yeah, 3DS pokémon games were 40.

Home is a non-issue anyway, since you needed to pay for Box too.

You could probably store the data of tens of thousands of users with 1 GB worth of storage, lmao. I just don't think it's appropriate to lock your game behind nintendo switch online and then adding another subscription feature ontop of that to transfer pokémon. Especially for a feature I'm sure will be as barebones and lacking as bank was. Not to mention how pokémon bank would randomly wipe people's data if they didn't stay subscribed. Woops, better wipe KB worth of data because people aren't actively staying subscribed. And of course it matters when the new games don't have significantly more content (and IMO have less content) than the 3DS games. So you're paying more for less because.... It's on the switch? Not really a compelling reason to pay more for less.

And paying for it again now in a new form when we also have to pay for nintendo switch online ontop to even have access to the online stuff, is just insult to injury. Pokémon bank was always horribly overpriced for a feature that stores KB worth of data for each user. You could probably store the data of tens of thousands of users with 1 GB worth of storage, lmao. That doesn't mean that I give Sword and Shield a pass for being shitty. I agree paying for Bank was shitty, but that's old news by now. I haven't seen anything about Home being locked behind the online subscription(though to be fair, I haven't been looking either because there's been no point).

Not saying you don’t do sequels eventually, but if gives space to actually overhaul things and in the interim add content to it

I've not bought any DLCs yet, usually by the time a DLC comes out I've finished the game and long moved on to other games. I don't really care as long as the base game is still a finished product.

I just worry that the story will be very un-fun. I find the post-game story content in most pokemon games is balanced OK if you just hop right in with your in-game team immediately after beating the champion, but a lot of the time, by the time I feel like finishing the post-game story, I have L100 max EV max IV pokemon with optimal abilities/move sets, so the game becomes super un-fun. I can handicap myself (maybe catch 6 random raid pokemon and use that as my in-game team) but there's just some mental "I can just use my L100 Eternatus and L100 Zacian if I hit a wall" block that I won't be able to get over. I'm kinda hoping that you kinda start over with a new team when you reach the new island, then your island box and your regular boxes merge after you finish the story so that the story-mode is kinda siloed and you can't just roll through the game with L100s They've also said nothing about Battle Tower. It's terrible in this game and I really hope they either improve it or provide some new battle facility that's fun

As shitty as paying for bank is, it's only $5 a year. What annoys me is having to pay for home and then maybe having to pay for the online subscription every time I want to access it. I don't know either if it's going to be required but it seems to be more likely than not. I don't play multiplayer games so I don't have any reason to pay for the online subscription otherwise.

I also wanna know if Bank subscriptions will roll over. I think they'll do the right thing in both cases, but the silence is making me a bit anxious

I set up my kid’s Switch and account leading up to Christmas and added my Nintendo ID to it. Which set his console as the primary one, so he can play all my games without restriction. He is moving house at present and my understanding is he can still play my games if I switch it back, but it requires a WiFi connection, and me not to be playing the same things simultaneously. Which will be fine to switch back when he gets internet in the new place, but is there anything I need to worry about here? As far as I can gather save data etc is cloud saved (and I got him an account with Nintendo online) but just wondering if there’s anything I’ve overlooked. Cheers folks!
