Another thing to note is that if camps spawn within roughly 3-4 tiles of horses, they'll spawn horsemen, I don't know the exact distance. If there are horses within your ring and a camp spawns near, buy the tile and improve the horses.

Camps also don't spawn units until their scout has seen your city and has gone back to its original camp. I always attack any barb scout I see so they change directions.

Sheep definitely count for horseman spawning. Deer might as well.

Any intrest in getting a TL MP game going at some time?

Is it just me having really bad luck or does barb camps spawn a significantly closer to your starting city since after the patch? Because even on prince difficulty (Yes I am not very good at this game) I had to abort like 2-3 campaigns very early already because of how many barb camps spawned very close to my capital.

I haven't seen it, but just remember that really early on a warrior can usually solo a barb camp, even if it's a matter of attacking once then healing and going again. Just place him in a hex with defensive capabilities in case the barb decides to attack.

Forgot to mention that by the time I could have possible produced a second unit (of any kind) from my capital, each camp has already spawned some form of horse-unit. I guess that makes it really bad luck for me.

Unlike Civ V you need to keep your warrior around early on so you can kill barb scouts before they report your city locations.

You can't keep up with the scout though. 3 Movement vs 2 and requiring movement points be left over to attack means that unless you have Archers or a river/mountain to trap them the scout will escape.

I think finding the camp before a scout finds you is more important.

When I slam my warrior into a barb scout once he tends to run away. But yeah, I always go scout > slinger while my warrior scouts around for camps. When the slinger is done I just send it to clear the camp.

Is it just me or is the apostle counter wrong? I remember being able to evangelize belief or start an inquisition with 2 spreads left. It still says that in game but the button doesn't work. Do I need 3 spreads left or just don't bother spreading before using the apostle?

look like a nice patch. One thing I hope is that the AI will not almost always go to war really early even if nothing append or if we are far appart.

normal AI behaviour if they are going for a religious victory. Both before and after the patch.
