Kinda the same, except I'm terrible at making reads, knowing when to take risks, as well as other things like blocking attacks, not getting combo'd, and actually hitting the opponent

Bison is a beast. His inferno is meaty. His stomp can't be beat.

I have to ask if it's just me or what... Does anyone else get extremely salty when losing? Somehow I can't get it into my head that I'm losing to people who have played for years and I haven't even played a week and I should lose.
Just that pre-fight screen where it says like Level 15 Ken vs Level 2 Nash and I get rekt. Been years since I got this frustrated in a game T_T

nah I don't really get salty, I can get somewhat mad at myself for not anti airing some obvious jump in or for taking a retarded risk on opponents wake up but the wait time between matches is long enough to calm down IMO.
edit: this momochoco stream is something else lol

Been years since I got this frustrated in a game T_T the only way i've been able to get over this (i still haven't fully) is to realize if i want to get better and stop losing to stupid shit, I have to play more. There is no shortcut, play more, get better, learn, and grow. Or just rage, stop playing, keep sucking. Everyone goes through the gauntlet when trying to get better in fighting games, you either cope and have the strive for improvement or you don't and you quit/stay bad forever ha! Enjoy it, nobody cares if you win or lose but yourself, you have nothing to prove to anyone else.

If it makes you feel better the level means nothing haha. LP's are the measure of skill.

There's something to take away from every game. It's often very obvious where the mistakes were and you can be mad at yourself for making them, but learn from it. This is the great thing about fighters compared to longer games like mobas and starcraft. The matches are so short and sweet that you can really pin down where the issues were and refine them quickly.
Also I would take any levels/points with a big grain of salt right now. Game's so new that there are probably a ton of players that are very experienced that have still only played a few games online. Not shocking to get totally schooled by someone with 500 LP.
I don't even get salty when I lose in ridiculous lag, it's out of your control! Also, lag has been pretty bad for me so far. Idk about anyone else's experiences but I'm only accepting 5 bar connections and there's still a lot of teleporting issues. I have a buddy I play lobbies with that lives probably 500 miles away that I get a great, amazingly playable connection to, but even all the random 5 bars in Ranked are usually terrible.

Lag is generally good for me with the occasional teleporter here and there. I get playable matches from Arizona vs a friend in Sweden so the netcode is pretty damn good.

If you are mad about losing just force yourself to watch the replay until you are mad at yourself for being terrible and not punishing x or dropping combo y or walking/jumping around like a headless chicken.
Some sources are saying lag is one sided. So one player will feel perfect while the other player sees teleporting.

Is there something weird with Bison's "floating"/falling times. Whenever he lands I can never throw him or even time my hits right, he can always throw me out of anything I try doing. I'm using R. Mika and I just don't get it. It only happens against Bison. I must be getting his timing weird because of his model or something.

I usually don't get salty when playing fighting games if I am generally having fun. The fun I am having with the game will keep me playing so naturally I will get better with time. These games aren't jobs and you should be having fun first and foremost. It's a new game so keep that in mind but if you can't seem to get over the salt and it's stressing you out than there are TONS of other games out there to try.
That's how I like to think of it.

What exactly makes Bison so great right now? He seems solid but the consensus seems to be that he's RIDICULOUS and I can't quite put my finger on it. Long cr.mp range for easy damage confirms? Devil reverse being a safe way in? The teleporting dash? Easy crush counter confirms after st.hk? Or is he just good because he's so solid all around, not just because of a couple particular things? I like the way he plays but he doesn't feel that insane, so just curious what I'm missing

SO, all in all, is the game worth? or should i just wait for the Super edition on march june to come out?

Dive in yo. I'd been over sf4 and jamming tons of sm4sh but I'm remembering why I love street fighter with this game. It feels so right. And while a lot of people may gripe about how easy links/combos are in this game, I absolutely love being able to actually do what I want to do without having to grind a week just to get dp FADC u1 to come out 7/10 times (a very simple input). Still stuck on a controller right now, though... (still haven't gotten a stick since Amazon fucked me)
Edit: Fuck Bison. Dude has super armor on everything. (Not true, pure salt. But that's why he feels OP as all hell to scrubs like me)

I don't think you should buy a fighting game for the single player. If you're not buying it for the single player buy it now.

He's strong with noobs too. Crouch medium punch is great. Do the pros use him?

I was watching TampaBison stream once to try and figure Bison out. I think he has a lot of random tools that combine well together. Not going to lie, I get a slight boner everytime I see CH s.RH. Holy shit does Bison hurt this game.
I also remember ppl saying in beta, his forward dash in normal mode wasn't great, but I see a lot of Bisons just phase through stuff now when he forward dashes.

I really haven't had much exp vs the characters that are expected to be top tier . I love getting salty in sf games they fuel my passion to improve :D

So guys, how competitive can i be on a 360 pad? Never played a Street Fighter game before, and looking into possibly buying this one on PC, but i have this mental image in my head, that everyone im playing will have a fight stick and own me. I dont mind getting ownd all day, but is using 360 controller going to handicap me?

Your controller won't limit your competitiveness. As long as you cross a basic execution thresh-hold the controller doesn't matter. (For reference PIE|Smug was a top NA player that used a 360 pad in SF4)
