MvC1 was the first fighting game I remember playing seriously at the arcade. Before that I just had a great time button mashing on Killer instinct, Primal Rage or Children of the atom ect. I also remember playing Mortal Kombat 2 at the arcade. But MvC1 is when I was really able to learn combos and stuff. Then I played a lot of Capcom vs SNK 1 and 2 and got really into the Guilty Gear X. I had the pleasure of growing up in NY and MvC2 was insane huge as well. I've even remember having my ass handed to me by J.Wong around 2003. Great times!! hah.

On SFV topic. I cant stick with a character I'm loving so many of them. Laura was my first who I think is awesome. I really like Birdie and Cammy, but I also like how the new Geif works. Then I was messing with Ryu and even had a lot of fun with that hah.

The only character that absolutely requires a stick is Cammy. Her TK divekick has to end in up-forward so it's impossible on pad.

I'm pretty confident Fang is the most matchup heavy character in the game. Really dislike playing against Bison and especially Sims with him

Far easier just to do a 412369 motion and delay the kick button a little.

Her EX is the only divekick without a height requirement so yes, you can do instant divekicks if you're willing to spend some meter. Afaik, there's no shortcut here. It has to be 2149 + KK. You can't hold 9 while pressing the kick too because it'll cancel out your 214 motion. It's very strict and I'm having trouble pulling it off even on stick especially on 2p side. It's an unnatural motion for your thumb if you're using pad.

Oh wow is there zero downside to rage quitting anymore? I've been coming across a few pretty high ranked players who are absolute garbage and rage quit when I've won and I don't gain any points, I'm assuming they don't lose any either hence their high rating?

Pretty much any time you see someone on a massive win streak prepare for a ragequit because that's how they kept it going.

Capcom is apparently aware it's a major issue so they'll likely address it in a patch.

Yes it's been a huge topic of discussion and something I think capcom has to address. I would not be surprised at all if points are all reset. Especially because I think a CPT spot goes to the #1 Rank or something like that.

But players have been doing motions like this on pad for years... It's unnatural for both controllers, but that's what practice is for. Viper players did TK burn kicks on pad in SF4. You could even argue that doing it "the slow way", 963214+K, is easier on pad, much like 360s with Gief. Unless they significantly changed the way inputs work in V, which I haven't noticed so far, it should work similarly on both pad and stick. Difficult and annoying, but not impossible.

Hmm, ragequitting was around in bnet 1.0 (18 years ago) and would show up in your w-l-disc stats. You would mostly avoid people with a lot of discs. Kind of naive not to have thought of this at all prior to release, right?

I don't think there is a penalty for rage quitting because the servers aren't stable just yet so, they wanted to avoid both players losing points to random DCs. They probably figured that would be the bigger outcry. Glad they are working on it either way.
