From the initial rumours, it sounds like the real story/charges are a lot tamer than expected. Yes, he did assault his ex-wife, but it seems like it was a one-time incident and not him being a wife-beater. He'll face his charges, and his career will probably recover after. | ||

I've been torn about this since people started speculating about what was going on. So much of the speculating and name-calling — or harassing him, or worse, his fans for "supporting a wife-beater" and so on — has been absurd, and with these things I'd usually rather it stay a personal, private matter to avoid all of that. But, it's also important to talk about and deal with as a community. From Capcom's article, it sounds like it's, idk how to put it, like it's "going well" I guess, that Capcom, Panda, and Infiltration are communicating with one another. It also feels like they're reinforcing the fact that it was a one-time incident and trying to push down the rumormill and all that, which is good. It's hard to say how much it will affect him and his career. It's only a year, he could recover just fine, but I think there will always be at least a small group of people agressively pushing their hate at him for this for years. And a lot can happen in a year, bad and good. His play and his public attitude have inspired a lot of people, and he's driven the competition so much, of course I hope that he uses the time to better himself and that his career does recover after. | ||

If it was a one off incident it might tarnish his rep but not as dramatic as it seemed. The initial rumors and stuff were way harsher. Legal cases, long time for info/statements to come out, etc. It's still lame because even just one incident doesn't make it ok. But whoever was going around Reddit and other social media spreading info without sources/proof was way spookier. | ||
