Def would recommend if you haven't tried it.

I'm pretty sure you could actually solo Conquest Hard just going full DLC abuse on your avatar (2x Dragon Herbs, Paragon, Dark Falcon, etc.). Lunatic might be harder just because of a few specific chapters (mostly endgame).

Avatar with Jakob pair up can very consistently solo hard mode with the exception of endgame and to a lesser extent Iago's chapter. The same cannot be said for lunatic. There are multiple points that are a bit too much even for Corrin.

I got to the merlinus gaiden chapter before getting wrecked by other things. Ironically I have 2 weeks of travel for work and will actually have time to play more FE7. Conquest is such a better game, lol.

In the store they had Birthright for 40 euros and Conquest for 30. Bought Conquest and then purchased Birthright for 13 euros online xD I completed Birthright and it was ok. Around Chapter 11 in Conquest now. I'm curious for the whole story so I'll certainly buy Revelations after this. I absolutely loved FE10 and must've replayed it 7-8 times by now. Awakening was a pretty huge disappointment in comparison. These games will probably be somewhere in between, decent enough to play once but I doubt I'll be invested enough to replay them several times. Here's hoping they make something like FE10 for the Switch.

9/10 were my favorite games before, but Conquest is probably the game I think the most about now. It's probably my favorite.

Part of this is that Conquest's story is it's weakest component, but story is the most ignorable element of the game when you're on playthrough #5.

Ever since Zihark, Swordmaster/Trueblade has been my favourite class by miles. Ryoma got a lot of love in Birthright. Hana too but she didn't turn into the amazing Dodgetank that SMs usually become. Conquest is ok so far, I'm taking it easy by playing on lowest difficulty, passed Chapter 10 without any trouble as a result, will definitely try this one again on Hard eventually. I'll save myself the headache that is Lunatic though. Current team consists of all the nobles + Niles. I started out using Arthur but dropped him at lvl 16 since Camilla and Leo arrived. I guess I'll add Xander and that'll be it. It's a bit of a shame that the nobles are so OP. Some promotions leave me confused. I'm pretty sure Bow Knight was strictly superior to Adventurer in pretty much every stat except maybe 1 point in Speed or something similar. Why would you go Adventurer? Is the lvl 35 skill much better perhaps? Plot leaves me disappointed so far,+ Show Spoiler + I thought in Conquest we would come to understand Garon's reasons for suddenly invading, but so far none of that, and it's looking like he'll be the final boss again. Hopefully Revelations explains some of the motivation.

Basically, for <50% hitrates, Fates uses 1RN to determine whether an attack hits, making dodgetanking much less reliable. The nerf is well-deserved, since Speed has been generally regarded as the strongest stat for most of the series' history, and since the introduction of 2RN in FE6, it's arguable that part of this is because superfluous amounts of Speed act acceptably as a defensive stat in lieu of the actual defensive stats. Is the lvl 35 skill much better perhaps? Adventurer has a Mag stat and a staff rank which matters in certain instances (Pass+Rescue). It also learns 2 useful skills whereas the BK level 5 skill is basically ignorable, and the BK level 15 skill has narrow applications to a single chapter (for which it isn't even really necessary). Adventurer also gives an additional +1 Spd on pairup, but that only matters in the context of pair-up bots. Honestly, Adventurer/BK is fine as far as split-promo balance goes. I'm almost always promoting Niles to BK, but the Adventurer benefits matter enough that Niles, Shura, or Nina are going to spend at least some time in the class. It's a lot less egregious than Oni/Blacksmith, Paladin/GK, GK/General, Sorcerer/DK, or Strat/Maid. The only real way to get closure on the overarching plot for Fates is the Hidden Truths + Heirs of Fate DLCs--which I consider to be a better use of $20 than Revelation.

My guess is that since they leveled the playing field with regard to physical 1-2 range weapons (i.e. the Javelin/Hand Axe nerf and the addition of the Kodachi), they were afraid of the Samurai line being too good so they were overly conservative with where they balanced it's strength.

+ Show Spoiler + Wtf was 15 lol. Took me a while to figure out the replicas had shared health. Not sure why my Azura replica couldn't use Sing, that seemed like an arbitrary limitation. Nothing noteworthy about 16. Then 17 holy shit. After losing more of my team than I'd liked in Birthright, I decided to play Conquest on CASUAL, and after this chapter I do not regret that choice. What a massacre, only Xander was standing at the end. Doing this on Lunatic - Classic seems pretty soul-destroying. My entire team is between 20/2 and 20/5 atm, I'm heavily considering dropping Selena and Niles and just having Corrin + the 3 royals as damage dealers.

Boss isn't too bad if you can get his stats decreased some to actually hit him effectively.

Xander all the things is how I beat 17(and conquest in general lol) IIRC you get a speedwing or something if you keep him alive but you can let him die if its inevtiable. Speedwing is kinda nice but not worth the complete headache if you keep getting stuck on that level.

This is one of those chapters that really highlights how broken tonics, Camilla and Elise auras are. Just stick Niles with +Str support on a wall, and he murders entire rooms of ninjas on enemy phase.
