It's an easier map cuz it's Rev, I meant that you just have less strategic options because you don't have the mobility to approach the map from interesting ways.

On Rev the fact that you're unavoidably going to be fielding foot units limits your pace and your options for tackling the level.
Still, all told its still a vastly better map than Rev Ch10. That map is one of the worst in the whole series. In terms of map design? Absolutely, but once you realize you can just cut through the middle and beat it in about 10 turns, its far more bearable.

Yeah but there are a few stat items on the map if you clear to the top and bottom. Sure it sucks, but definitely worth clearing.

It's actually pretty funny that the pegasus knight wiki doesn't even have a map for that chapter.

I was referring to chapter 10, which I guessed everyone was complaining about. Actually kind of surprising given how absolutely comprehensive the FE14 wiki is compared to even older games.
|
I think Rev 10 gets my vote for worst Fire Emblem map ever made. Worse than the Gaiden boat maps because it actually plays like 40 Gaiden boat maps stapled together, except if you get crit by the Mjolnir mage at the end, you have to start over from the beginning.

It's really irritating to play and the standout worst chapter in Revelation, but it feels like there's an actual map underneath all the garbage that had potential. It didn't leave as bad an impression as trying to play through shadow dragon or chiki's chapter in awakening where it felt like they didn't try at all.
|
I'm probably just biased by the fact that the Mjolnir mage crit me and forced a reset my first time through.
Tiki's chapter at least had the decency to be over on the first try.

I'm by no stretch a great FE player, but I had the luxury of having a super general effie, good xander growths, and a sorceress camelia that wasn't stat screwed on magic. I sent xander and effie in guard stance to blockade the right hand side with physic support from elise, and camelia with maid felicia to block the mages from the south. My biggest problem was that I had way too many fragile characters that kept getting picked off by the falcoknights....if i had just used less characers, i wouldn't have had that big of a problem.

Oh god why would you reclass Camilla to Sorceress, lol.
Bowbreaker is cool, but not really worth it given the context of Conquest lategame.

Well the idea was to get bowbreaker and then switch back to wyvern lord...im seriously regretting my decision to reclass her to sorceress, but she's okay right now lol
Bow breaker was a life saver for me for hinoka's chapter though.

Lemme be clear: the map isn't that hard, just very annoying. I have lvl 5+ Wyv. Lord Percy and Baruka, the former of whom is ferrying around a lvl 7 General Effie with amazing growths. I also have 2 archers that can one round any flier and most of the mages, plus a stacked avatar that can do whatever she wants. The map is extremely easy to turtle, the problem is that I've been trying to do it quickly and I run into the problems that the Seal abilities last way too long for me to try to break through the 2nd/3rd line with all the stat drops.
That and I've gotten very unlucky.* Still, only 3 actual tries on the map.
*+ Show Spoiler +OK, maybe not that unlucky since I had a unit survive 3 ~40% chances for it to die. But that balanced out later when I missed a 93% chance to kill and got killed back by a double attack that each had a 38% chance to hit.
|
On my last run I'd cleared all the way to Fuga and Camilla missed 2 75%s and got crit back on enemy phase. Had to do the chapter all over again.
Though my worst RNG has still got to be Xander double-missing 99% hits.
|
Missing 2 75's feels a lot more common in this game. This game has made me way more mellow about RNG bullshit though. It's cool that you can stack heartseeker auras when it matters like a pseudo triangle attack, and would be nice if they made a crit version.
|
So on my run through for support conversations, I usually skip all the animations with the b button. One time I had my Camilla attack someone that was like a 13 damage 30% hit 11% crit. Yeah she died to that somehow. I was like, how is that even possible?.
I've been crit by like 2-4% chances on 60% hits and it just feels bad. One time I on Chapter 26 vs final boss on Conquest, I had the boss have a 11% hit with 1% crit chance, and I was like, I'm not taking that chance because if he crits I get to restart. At least the Honest Trailer for Fire Emblem gave a shout out to critical hits.

Conditional on the 30% hit hitting, 10% is actually pretty high. Camila will kill over a 100 guys in a game, so you should expect a 3% event happening quite a bit over a run.
The game is a lot more honest about those 30% hits compared to the past few games. Avoid tanking barely feels relevant anymore without extreme modifiers.

Hard, classic. Birthright, DLC for ez gold, and ez seize skills. Not even level 15 cavalier and got swordfaire, lancefaire, pavise, and aegis on Silas. Paired with Astra Sol Luna Villager Mozu. They're such a cute (and deadly) couple. Doesn't even feel hard or classic, man. Gotta limit myself, or... maybe lunatic or other paths will set me straight.
|
Well having the extra skills on non promoted units certainly trivializes the game (even more than it already is on birthright for the most part). Neither of those characters should have promoted units skills yet.
