For difficulty reference, beat him with 6 of us, average level was probably 31.

I saved up a bunch of Rare Candy for a Zapdos, but I have no Stardust so idk. We did Zapdos with 8 (though one person was level 40 and people had a lot of golems) so it's not too bad seem somewhere in the middle of Moltres and Articuno.

On the subjects of raids though, Eeveelutions has been a lot more common as bosses lately for me

Hell, make all the gyms raids.

Yeah, I want to be able to battle in gyms when I get the chance. There is like 500 meters between my work and the nearest metro station, and among the ~10 gyms visible, half of them had a raid going on (including 2 Articunos).

Hell, if New Mexico has a local group that runs successful groups for raiding, it can't be too terribly difficult to find elsewhere.

When paired, it will blink with a green light and vibrate when a Pokemon is near, and if you press the button, it will throw one red ball and attempt to catch the Pokemon. It will then vibrate with two different patterns to let you know if you caught it or not. It will also blink blue and vibrate when you're within range of a poke stop and if you push the button it will vibrate and let you know how many items you got from the spin. It also counts steps in some way that I haven't quite figured out yet.

If I could look on the map and see that a raid 500m away had 3 people at it waiting to start, I would be much more inclined to walk over and check it out. Facebook groups and so on are fine, but it's really in the games interest to rely as little as possible on third party bits and pieces.
