It does seem like throw physics were changed again, but probably for the better as it's easier to get the ball to go further back now which was a bit of a pain if you were trying to catch pokemon with one hand or something.
A lot of neat new touches in the update; the first catch bonus is really nice for getting XP faster.
I really hope they add a new way to get pokecoins though, not even fast I just would like a little bit here and there to save up for things. I really don't like the Gym battling; it's not even the mechanics of it really but I just don't have time to stand around and do it and it's hard to ever get the opportunity to do it in a daily routine because the range on gym battling is so cripplingly short. PvP battles would be nice, even if shallow, if they let you get even a little bit of coins so you can expand your boxes a bit.
Edit... I'm also excited because I'm one of those people that only ever played gen 1 so it's fun finding new pokemon I've never seen before.

Maybe it's just me, but do the Johto gen Pokemon look a little... flatter? Like, with some of them, like Chikorita, where the eyes are almost fish-level sideways, they just look a little off.

Might just be me but it looks like razz berries don't stack? You used to build up the increased chance over multiple throws to an extent right? i thought razz berries only increased it for the next attempted catch (ie. when the pokeball actually hits the pokemon) Yeah I'm not sure, I always felt like the circle kept getting greener for me. I distinctly noticed today that it went orange -> yellow, resisted capture, back to orange where as I've never noticed that. Could just be unobservant though lol.
well i think the colour of the capture circle wasnt affected by the razz berry before this update

people are already reporting catching all the new pokemon. in a week's time, these same people will be reporting the game is dead, has no end-game, etc.

Lures that last six hours and areas where there's six or seven of them active at once, I'm not particularly surprised. After only about three hours of playtime I am at 25. And it could be around 30 if I got some better luck with my eeveeultions and could pull an evolutionary item out of a pokestop.
Hoothoot can be a ditto as I have caught a Hoothoot Ditto. Sentret probably can be too.

you can rename your eevees to get the new evolutions. no luck necessary.
its raining here and i have almost zero pokeballs, so sitting at lures not an option for me. ;-) plus, i want to take my time.
anyone know what the rares are that i should be running my ass out the door for if they pop up?

When I found a Hitmontop yesterday, I noticed that the candy said Tyrogue candy. Which means that the Hitmons are sharing candy now.

I have not on either of my daily bonus spins. Or any of my around 150 pokestop spins either. They seem extreamly rare

Me and the gf each got our first item on the 7-day bonus swipe. A colleague got an up-grade randomly though, so i'd say there's a miniscule chance of getting one with each swipe, and almost guaranteed on the 7th day streak.

3 of us in a car last night hitting stops for 8+hours, got 1 metal coat. They pretty damn rare lol.

I got a metal coat today. I probably spun upwards of 200 stops since the update came out, so it's definitely a very low chance.
Weather has been a bit shit, and I've been busy so I have only been able to sit at tri-lure for about 3 hours total though.

Speaking of Metal Coat...The only Onix I have ever seen was an 11cp Onix lol. I need a infinitely better one to hatch or get caught if I am ever going to get a Steelix. I might end up getting Steelix last unless I find one randomly in the wild (doubt it)
Onix has nested 3 times in my city...wish I thought ahead and went hunting
My day 7 pokestop spin was a sun stone. Seems that it might be a massivley higher chance. Another friend got hers on the 7 day as well

got one as well. luckily i caught a porygon a long time ago. now i just have to walk him like 120 kms. lol. did the same with grimer. at least its doable, with the former system (no buddy), i wouldnt even bother since porygon are so rare.
