if the game is going to come out on two blu-ray's, then i wonder how much shit they've crammed into midgar itself to make it an actual game that needs to ship with two discs.

Maximilian talked about how good the game will look in 60FPS for PC which makes me think the game will be released on PC as well, not long after the PS version.
I will wait with purchasing a PS, hopefully it will be released on PC shortly after.

Anyone who hasn't gone and listen to the DnB remix of the battle theme that's part of the official soundtrack really should. It's great, and the fact that they made a remix of the battle theme just for the fuckin' squats minigame just shows how much effort they are really putting into this. Hype hard to control.

That's nothing, I've waited for 5-6 years already, I can deal with another 12 months, it's not like Dota isn't keeping me entertained anyway.

I'd like to say the same, but there's a 3 fold issue where a) I like physical copies b) I can put it on my shelf with my PS1 copy, and 3) added nostalgia of playing the remake on a Playstation.

I don't care for physical copies any more for several reasons.
Plastic.
Having to swap discs.
Can be scratched and thus you have to purchase a new copy.
Can be stolen.

Digital produce no plastic, it reduced the amount of shipping which in turn reduce the amount of pollution, it's registered on my account for all time so I can never lose the discs nor can they be stolen and you can stream it on twitch without the silly playstation UI.

I'll just purchase the PS controller and it will feel like I am playing on a playstation just with better graphics and smoother performance.

The game in itself is nostalgic for me, not the box I play it on, especially since I would have to purchase a brand new console to play one single game when I can save that money and put it into upgrading my PC when I need to.

I purchased a new xbox one when they announced the remake and it's just sitting in the box collecting dust.

PS: It is sad that they "turn based" option is basically just easy mode where the game controls itself and you just sit there and watch, if what Maximilian said is true, which I think it is, I don't think he would lie about something like that.

The difficulty/settings are hard to describe until you just play it yourself. When you're choosing difficulty there is a Classic option (or something like that) which tells you directly that it's "the easy difficulty but characters also auto attack on their own". That's the only gameplay difference, not having to manually attack. To me the difference between having to mash Square myself to attack, or the characters auto-attacking, is really minor. Them auto attacking doesn't make the game feel any more "turn based" than the default normal difficulty imo. The default Normal difficulty still has the cool ATB time stop system which adds that classic turn-based spell/item/limit feel on top of the new 3D battle space.
