But I did snipe 3-4 BoS initiates and a Knight, then stole the Power Armor. Which is cool I guess.

And what do you guys do with the .308 ammo? I switched my sniper rifle to .50 and the hunting rifles kind of suck this game.

I switched my sniper rifle to .50 and the hunting rifles kind of suck this game. .308 ammo is useful until maybe level 20 since headshots with upgraded hunting rifles can 1-shot most opponents, but after that you should have better weapons like combat or assault rifles. At that point .308 becomes essentially the third currency, after bottlecaps and .38 ammo.

The decks are curved so even if he was at the other end after his intro speech he would be blocked from view, and there isn't a high enough building to get on top of to snipe him from there. Son of a bitch... that would have been epic. But I did snipe 3-4 BoS initiates and a Knight, then stole the Power Armor. Which is cool I guess. Are there no settlements around to build a massive tower?

Actually after you listen to the speech and go to Danse and meet the crew it is possible to Dismiss Danse, send him somewhere else and fast travel to the Airport while Maxson is still waiting outside at the other end of the ship. The tallest building at the Airport is the building at the entrance, if I were to get a shot from there I would be zerged immediately, and the position of the ship faces the water and had to go back to leveling as the sun was in my eyes and couldn't get a visual on him. I'm thinking I might have to continue to level up and cap gun nut to build the most advanced Scope to take out this SOB. Then there's the problem of getting his coat.... lol

I use a .38 pipe rifle for trash and I think it has like 44 rounds. Speaking of, do quest mobs not increase in level? I just did the Slocum Joe's quest at level 40 and all of the synths were level 5. @CCStealthblue- what about the pickpocket perk?

I'm actually thinking Capped might be on to something here... the nearest settlement is Nordhagen Beach http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Nordhagen_Beach The only problem is I would have to bring a lot of Wood/Steel to build the stairs and floors just to see if it's possible to get a shot at him.

Have you upgraded it with ballistic weave? The wiki says that it's equivalent to a full suit of combat armor when fully upgraded.

My understanding is areas are capped on their level/difficulty for most spawns, as are some quest spawns, but legendary packs and areas with higher difficulty caps will scale.

+ Show Spoiler + The story line pretty much forces you on the track, granted it's a wide track but still. Nothing like Morrowind but then again nothing tops that game.

When you start the game its literally "Go south. You'll die north and theres nothing West. East? Mountains, only you can climb, with death at the top of it." The game map is so small that unless youre going to gimmick your way through (or you're playing easy difficulties.) you'll constantly run into bullshit high level areas unless you follow their given path. F3 & 4 are much much better in an open world sense. If we're talking about meaningful decisions in quests and multiple options / endings for things...then NV wins out.
